you don't need to have a purebred pet. some of the best ones come from rescues or shelters. and plus, if you go to the local humane society, they make sure that the animals there are spayed/neutered and get their shots. you also get that warm fuzzy feeling in your stomach to know that you just saved a life. most adoption fees are significantly lower than buying a purebred animal...and that's ANY animal. be part of the solution to stop the overpopulation of cats (and dogs). help your community, and help and animal. adopt from the humane society, aspca/spca, or rescue in your area!!!! everyday across the country, hundreds and thousands of innocent animals are euthanized because of over-crowding. this is caused mainly be irresponsible pet owners and breeders. please. please, PLEASE adopt a shelter cat.

well i say scan your local news paper for breeders or a good place to start would be head to petsmart or petco, pick up an issue of cat fancy and peruse the breeder directory near the back. just be sure you've researched persians well! They tend to have allergy, eye and sinus problems due to their short muzzle. You also need to be prepared for daily grooming so they don;t get mats in their coat!

Why you want this overpriced animal is beyond me, but if you just like the way it looks, ok.
You would spend your money better by giving it to your church on Sunday for the poor. If you still need a cat in your house, check the animal shelter and save a cat who is about to be destroyed due to no owner.
Win-win situation

Well, you could go to some veterinary clinics and ask them if they can give you some information about the cat you want. Or check in your newspaper; they usually announced cats for adoption.

Go to the ASPCA website. They have a shelter locator where you can look online at pets at shelters in your area that need to be adopted. Good luck!

The best way is to look in the Sunday paper and look under classified pets.
