I took my kitchen, den and dining room colors from the Magnolia tree, pods and blooms. The seeds in the pods are a deep red, I've used several shades of greens, a golden tone from the inside of the bloom and white from the bloom. The 3 rooms are fairly open to each other so each has gold, red, and green. The three rooms blend but each has it's own predominate color. All done with white trim and doors. A lot of the time, nature is the best place for combinations that are natural and not shocking.

Cream, light blue and dark brown is a cool combo that I am seeing a lot. Pier One has a bunch of stuff with this combo as well as some other interesting ones that are poplular now.

I love when people paint a light green/sage (a soft green not lime or anything dark) and tan. If you are decorating a room you can use those colors and palm trees.

I did my room using a chocolate brown wall, combined with white walls. It looks great, specially with white and bright orange furniture.
