I have been having an aching pain in my lower abdomen and lower back. It's been going on for about a week. It seems to be getting worse. It's almost unbearable to bend over or to stand up. Yesterday I got a shooting pain in my abdomen for a few minutes.
Now here's the deal. I have no medical insurance and have been to the county health department before with such a problem (but not nearly as severe) and they can't seem to help. I already know I need to see a doctor, please don't tell me that but where can I go. I'm unemployed and only get $340 per month which hardly covers my bills.

Also not to sound disgusting but my bf thinks it's intestinal and he told me they will put that scope up my butt!!! Will they? What's that like???

I am not eligible for medicaid. I have applied and been denied 5 times.

There may be a clinic in your area that treats patients without insurance. As an RN, I can tell you...you need to be seen. It could be your kidneys or appendix. With kidneys, people complain of the lower back aches. If it's the appendix, it could rupture which could be fatal. I know having no money is a huge problem. Have you tried to get Medicaid? Even if you have to get a medical bill, even if you pay $10 a month, it can't go into collections and it will get paid off eventually. Doesn't necessarily mean you'll get a scope. If you do, not as big a deal as you might think. They give Demerol and Versed before the procedure. Versed is conscious sedation which means you'll be very spacy but awake. Also with Versed, you won't remember anything about the procedure. Hope this helps.

First , You can go to the doctor. They will let you make payments. You might have to bring them some money. Second, it might be your appendics?? If that burst you will have to go to the emergency room and that will cost you thousands. So, now, the doctor bill doesn't sound so bad, right. I want you to know , if they have to put a scope in anywhere , You are asleep when they do it.. Make an appointment.

Firstly, most clinics don't report to credit agencies. So, if you have to make payments, its alright. You've got to take care of yourself. It's better to be in debt than dead. Most serious medical problems get more expensive to fix as they progress, so get help soon.

Secondly, it sounds like you may qualify for medicaid. Its a government health insurance for poor and elderly people. Talk to the front-desk people at the clinic.

Lastly, if they have to do a colonoscopy (stick a camera in your backside) they usually sedate you (put you to sleep) first. I had one done and I don't remember any of it.

Unless you bf is a doctor (in which case, why would you be asking here if he is), then don't get worried about being "scoped."

I would go to the emergency room. They will see you without insurance. You will just have to set up a payment schedule with them.

You should go to the emergancy room. Even if you have no money, they CAN'T turn you away. You'll just have to work out payment arrangements. Since its abdominal and lower back pain they'll likely do a vaginal exam, or an ultrasound. I wouldn't wait if I were you.

Take the money that you're spending on the internet and spend it on health insurance. Or, better yet, sell your computer - that'll provide with even more money towards medical bills. It's all about priorities.

The alternative could be worse than a scope.

Ever heard of an Ostomy?

Go have that checked out, and go to a clinic or something, don't suffer like that, the longer you wait the worse it could be for you.

It may not be fun, but you should go back to the same place you went before. You should be on record for the same problem, and they (should) take a closer, harder look at your symptoms.
