You can. But there has been one instance of a human surviving rabies... ever.
Usually by the time it is diagnosed you are hospitalized because your central nervous system is shutting down. That is why when you are bitten by an animal they try to find it and if they can't they give you the series of injection.
Bye.

How do you know you have rabies?
If you are scared because you have been bitten by an unknown animal call your local health department or public hospital emergency room. Tell them what bit you and when. If a suspicious animal has bitten you then the local health department will fund rabies shots for you. You will recieve them at a designated emergency room on a set schedule.
This I can tell you from personal experience, I had the shots during the summer of 95'.
Say you call tonight and tell them a bat bit you on the hand. They will tell you to go to ER at X hospital, a doctor will examine you and then prepare the initial vaccination and syrum for injections. (usually into your rumpus) This will not be confortable and it is OK to ask for someone to stay and hold your hand.
You have 3-4 hours until you start to feel "fluish" from the shot. Go home and go to bed and stay ther until you feel better. The best piece of advice I got was from an ER nurse who told me the more water I drank the better I would feel. She was right, keep drinking and you will feel better. The shots are not the nightmare that they were years ago but they are not a walk in the park either. You will go back on a schedule for more shots for the next six weeks. (at least that's the way I remember it)
Is there an alternative treatment to the shots? Nope. Only one person has ever made it through rabies without treatment. Good luck, call your health departmant. Drink lots of water.

If you had rabies, you would've seen a doctor by now because you would've been scratched/bitten by a wild animal. I find it hard to believe that you have rabies and are asking for help on Yahoo!Answers.
If you really do have it and you haven't seen a doctor yet, you're probably screwed anyway.

You don't have rabies. If you even had a thought about having rabies, you would have already been to the doctor for injections.
