The Pioneer Subwoofers you bought from walmart are 400 watt rms with a maximum output of 800 rms.

Basically, you would need an amplifier that (at a 2ohm wired resistance - ohm) outputs in between 400 and 800 rms.

I don't like the amplifier you picked out because it is a MULTI CHANNEL AMPLIFIER. MCA are for car door speakers though they can be rigged to work with more powerful subwoofer.
So you can be certain your investment is worthwhile, I would instead opt for a MONO CHANNEL AMPLIFIER since MCA are specially designed specifically for the stress that subwoofer's require.

I personally, would NEVER use a MCA with a subwoofer.

To make the shopping experience simple for you, I would suggest you go to either best buy or circuit city and get the amp.

Right now BEST BUY has an infinity amplifier (ref611A) that will give you 761 watts RMS if you wire your system to a 2 ohm load. (which is very easy to do since the amps include wiring instructions) This amplifier only costs $299.
Infinity is high quality and will get you the best sound out of those subs.

Best Buy also has an ALPINE amplifier (MRP-M450) for only $199 which will get you 400 contniuous RMS out those speakers.

I really recommend the Infinity more than the alpine because it will get you much more power.

Also keep in mind there are a long list of SONY mono channel amplifiers for leess than $200 such as the D1000P5 which will get you 500 watts RMS at a 2ohm resistance.

I like using SONY amps because they give you alot of power for the cost but most car audio enthusiasts are extremely biased against them because there are rumors of them burning out fast. I used a D1000P5 for 2 years with no problem.

Make sure your wiring setup is correct.

Ok, I looked up the specs on these subs and they are 400 watts RMS, 800 watts MAX, and they are single voice coil at 4ohms. You need to look for an amp that can provide 400 Watts RMS times 2 at 2ohms. Your subs wired will create a 2 ohm load. I would personally go with a 2 channel amp, however a 4 channel amp will work as well. IF I confused you, or if you want some amp reccomendations feel free to email me at munkyhead2_16@yahoo.com I included a link below to one amp around the same price range that will work.

your going to need a amp that has 2 or more channels and about 1200 watts. the amp you are lookin at should do pretty well with the subs that you have.
