some of you people are really killing me here! and the intelligence level is really scary. the military is not being secretly trained to take your weapons, I have trained troops from some of the Army's most elite units and if we don't know whats going on then its not going on, and you can take that to the bank, look i spent 26 years in the Army and retired in 05 and this is one of the most ludicrous things that i have ever heard of. look the reserve branch of the military and the national guard have orders to take personnel weapons under certain conditions one of those being marshal law other conditions are set by the degree of the emergency at hand. but these conditions are not always set by the president at the time of such national disasters they are often times requested by the governor of the states in which the disaster has taken place and then once it has been determined that weapons need to be taken the president will give the order. normally the conditions for such actions are to help end the violence that usually follows most national disasters because that's when the lowest of life forms that live among us come out.....so any of you out there that are having all these hallucination stop getting bent out of shape...it ain't happening.....remember just say no

ok first off your first link says nothing about us troops confiscating guns of u.s. citizens (btw to use an active duty soldier in a police role not allowed, the posse cometaus(misspelled) act dissallows such military involvement. your 2nd link isn't an official ANYTHING for 29palms as it is a .com and not a .mil or .gov...your 3rd link talks about COPS doing things, and any "military" people that might have been involved were national guardsmen which are under the command of the STATE'S governor and thus allowed to perform police type functions as is one of the missions of certain national guard units. so to answer your question NO.

I heard about the confiscation of weapons after Katrina before. It sure sounds like they have already been trained- the gov't just needs an excuse and I think they found one..... that being any kind of disaster whether man created or nature created. I don't like where any of this kind of gun control crap is heading. While claiming to protect honest citizens i.e. what happened after Katrina, they actually put people in harms way. Who still has the guns? The criminals. So how does the gov't protect me, my family and my property by leaving me defenseless? Dems or Reps-- they all seem to be working toward one goal despite the objections of the citizenry. We have to let them know and never let them forget that they work for US-- not the other way around. Arrogant bastards!!!!
And to all of you who did not know.... the gov't DID confiscate guns after Katrina and not just from the poor folks. They took guns from people in the ritzy part of town too.

Get a clue guy. Here we are doing most of our fighting in cities and you cannot figure out why we are training our troops to fight in cities.

And BTW - I served on operation Katrina Relief. The military was not confiscating firearms. And the police were only confiscating firearms if they were being carried in public.

The only thing that i saw on there about confiscateding guns was the lady that would not leave her house in New Orleans...which was about to be flooded. They took her gun so they could get her out of there, so she wouldn't die.
My husband is a Marine, along with my brother and cousin, and i have NEVER heard of them being trained for that. Plus the person that was taking that ladies gun was a police officer, not military

The US Rangers aren't, the Marines aren't, the Army aren't, & the Coast Guard aren't.

I have family & friends in all of these branches & they all own guns that you would have to pry from their cold dead hands.
I just do not know any Navy families but it makes no sense that branch would be chosen to do this duty.
Stay away from crazy websites.

Did you even bother to read the link that you posted. Get a clue, it was training for a mock attack from chemical weapons or national disaster and dealing with the civil unrest that follows,

It won't do them any good. They can't confiscate all the guns in Iraq or Afghanistan. So how are they going to confiscate all the American weapons?

You sound extremely paranoid. The NRA gun lobby is the base of this administration. They're even going after child safety latch legislation. They won't touch you. You're free to arm yourself.
