I agree with you and think that many people read way too much into the "stories" that are religions. I personally cannot see the logic and refuse to conform to every body's need to be in a religion. As many stories are proved to be impossible and to not correspond with each other, contradicting themselves and creating conflicts between people every day, I cannot find the good that is coming out of them apart from to make followers feel morally superior. People could well have read the bible as the greatest fictional book of that era for all we know! Harry potter is great, but really could be misinterpreted in years to come. Good point. At least now I know I am not alone in my thinking this.

First of all Harry Potter starting wars? Come on. If you had to have everything proved like a CSI episode, there would be no religion. Faith is believeing in something that you can't see or prove. You do it by your experiences, studying your religion and seeking guidance from others.
If I see deer hanging around my cabin every morning and then one night I leave food out for the deer and it's gone in the morning, I can't prove CSI style that deer took the food but I'm almost positive they did.
What's happening in the middle east is wrong. Both sides think they are victims and that the other is completely wrong, but faith is a great thing when it's right. God doesn't want hate or war but men are fallible.
Just because you can't see it or prove it, doesn't mean it isn't true.

The problem is not that it can't be proven, the problem is that you will not accept the proof that is given. If you don't believe in God then how will you ever believe in the things of God. You think the only way it can be proven is if you can see it, smell it, hear it, touch it, or taste it...if you cannot then it doesn't exist. Yet on the same token you can't see TV signals yet you believe they are there. What about Cell phone signals? Can't see those yet you know they are there. When you look at a painting or a building do you have to see the builder or painter to know they exist, but when you see creation somehow that is where you disconnect and do not see the Creator.
You will deny that which is given as proof and say that it is not enough to prove god yet it is enough to prove these other things. Staqtistically speaking creation by a creator is more of a simple explanation using Ockham's razor than everything occuring through chance and evolution, yet you will still believe evolutionism over creationism.
Seeing isn't believing my friend....Believing is seeing.

i don't insist "God can not be quatified". And the existence of the universe is *not* data of a mystical superbeing that sneezed all of it out or regardless of. this is imaginary. See in case you have not have been given data of something, and in simple terms make up a tale with your mind's eye, or repeat the story somebody else made up with their mind's eye, meaning it quite is imaginary. i'm sorry, did you declare that *organic* failures are because of the fact of guy's "insurrection" against your imaginary chum? Whom no person had even imagined up till in simple terms decrease than 3 thousand years in the past? this is an atrocious declare, and you're a bad guy or woman for making it. Take your females-deserve-to-be-raped type ideas-set someplace else. suffering exists interior the international. Pretending there is cosmic justice and human beings need to go through multiplies the injustice and suffering. Why do you insist on spreading injustice? i won't start to allow you comprehend the way disgusting it quite is. and that i guess you have confident your self it quite is righteousness.

I like to think of future generations regarding Star Wars as seriously as some of us view the Bible.

Because we're talking about people's identities and fears. This is the BEDROCK of their hopes, dreams, and identity. To question is SCARY and very unsettling. I was raised a fundamentalist and the turmoil I went through questioning this stuff was horrible. I'm glad I did but the process was very painful.

When people experience something to be real, they will tell you that it is real whether it can be proven to you or not.
Michael Jordan drove through my neighborhood one afternoon, got lost, and asked me for directions. It was really him, he was there and it was REAL. But I have no way of proving it. Nobody else was there and I didnt take any pictures.

Because once you accept God, you feel his presence, therefore making it obvious how real He is.
Unfortunately some people are so narrow-minded they won't give the Sovereign Lord a chance.
God bless!!
PS: There isn't any better evidence for the Big Bang or evolution than there is for the Bible...
