How is your dog doing? Please let us know. Here's a hint about keeping dogs cool in hot weather: Soak a t-shirt (not one of these really cheap, thin ones) in cold water and put it on him, pulling his front legs through the armholes, then tie it up loosely on his back so that he can still walk. My dog really appreciates this and it stops her panting. Keep the t-shirt wet. In an emergency, soak the back of the dog's neck with water to cool him down quickly.

it mostly depends on three things: (1) how long the dog was in the sun, (2) how old the dog is, and (3) the overall health of the dog. if he was in the sun all day, 12 or 13 yrs old (in people years), and totally out of shape ther is almost no chance he will survive. :'-( but if he was in the sun for only a couple of hours, 1-5 yrs, and in really good shape, he'll be okay. good luck 2 ur friend and dog!!!!

I've seen it go both ways. There is no right answer. If treatment was administered in time, how dog responds to it, and how long the pet was out in the heat.
I'm sorry.....
PS I'm a vet tech

Hard to tell, I've seen it go both ways. Just make sure they keep him cool, but cool down slowly and give small bits of water to raise hydration levels. Give the water in SMALL AMOUNTS, do not over hydrate to quickly. And, if he does make it, don't leave him in the heat anymore. I sold a Shar-Pei to someone, and they left him out and let him die of a heat stroke. It scarred me for life and I can never forgive myself for selling him. Good luck!

Ask the vet. They are the only ones that can give a prognosis now.

I'm sorry, but probably not. He has a 38% chance of living though. I could give a better answer if you tell me the age and breed. Email me at banana_girl_3d@yahoo.com and tell me and I will tell you.

he'll probably pull through but it depends upon how long he was exposed and how quickly he was able to get treatment.
He'll be weak and need a while to recover. What is his name?
