Here's I reply I gave to some though email that I think could easily apply to you all.

God is an idea. Your god may very well be different then my god. George Bush's god gave him the power and vision to go after terrorism. The terrorist's god gave them the power and conviction to strap a bomb on and kill themselves taking out as many other people as they can. Who do they credit as spiritual force behind what the do? They both say GOD

My god gave me the power to make my own choice and to belive what I think is right. I also know if my god was this all powerfull being then he wouldn't let thousands of children die becuase of the mistakes of others (current issues). My god has given me the power to think freely, not to be trained like an animal in what to belive. He also gave me the power and wisdom to be tolerant of others. Once you fall into the preachings of someone else then you don't love and worship your god anymore. You worship someone elses god.

What if God is real and what if he can be known? What if George W. Bush and the terrorists are lying or misled? What if the Bible is reliable and can be trusted when interpreted the way it was meant to be? What if there is such a thing as absolute truth? What if the saying "what is true for me is true for me and what is true for you is true for you" is misleading, like muslims or Bush claiming god is on is their side? They can't both be true. If God exists, would he stoop to the will of mere men anyway? Would he bend to meet their agendas or would he not more logically have his own which he is pursuing?

The problem with people's gods is that they are not real. Like you said they are "ideas". They are too often figments of people's imaginations. This becomes important when we seeing that what we believe affects the way we live. However, spiritual truth can be known to a certain degree. God can be known to a certain degree and it is through the Bible when inerpreted as it was meant to be. This is a site that has really cleared some things up for me.

So there in lies the real truth-I am up here because I see the most beautiful thing in my life being lost to the madness that religions have created-Our Mother Earth-and it is this continual Hate caused by "I am saved" attitude that is killing the planet-I am considerably well read have studied numerous religions-cultures-and volunteered numerous hours-not to offend but to learn on how to improve-because it is my hope to leave this world a better place for my having been here-not to think (as religions teach) that there is a better place-and perhaps my answer to you was in response to seeing friends and relatives that have lost their lives-and limbs trying to give the world into capable hands-YOURS-if you are able to abide by the laws set forth by OUR MOTHER-and she can be one hellofaMother-but needs people to let lose of this manmade religious righteousness that is causing her to lose-and why? Because the Bible has already told these people that the world will end and so they believe it and will not wake-up but are satisfied that she is a done deal-Not so says I-and many more-that have faith not in Gods but in Mankind-to do the work needed to bring her back from the brink she is now on! I had a wonderful childhood and I will work hard in my life to see that the love my parents brought me into this world to explore is one that the children of the world can adore! That's Why!

Christianity is not the same as Islam at all is that what you are trying to say which is correct and I agree with you. The founders of that religion said: This is what I teach, Believe my teachings, Follow my philosophy.

Jesus only said: Follow Me.

Not all the religions are going to Heaven. Have in mind that Jesus died for us for a purpose, so we cant believe in him and have a eternal life. Any religion that excludes Jesus from their teachings is denying God's son and God's plan.

Christianity is not a religion, is a relationship with God. Not a system of doctrines and beliefs. Is a person. Christianity is having a personal relationship with him and be at peace with yourself and the world.

I don't know which is your god or to what god are you refering to, but chose whatever you want to believe. The problem of this board is lack of respect is not really religion.

People are starved, spiritually and even more so when there is much strife, war and economic hardship in the world. It is like an hunger.

There are many dimensions to a whole person.
We must grow, not only spiritually, but emotionally, mentally, physically and socially.
To deny one facet of our humanity is to settle for something less than a whole person.

Just as one practises and trains for sports, he/she must develop all facets of being.

We are multi-dimensional persons. To truly know ourselves and be whole, we must make an intense effort to grow in all areas of our being.

Yes, God has given you free will. However he expects you to exercise it. There is an old Russian proverb that says, "Pray but keep rowing to the other side. In other words, God has his duties, and he expects you to actively use the talents and gifts that he has given you.

This "board" is called religion and spirituality. When people ask questions, other people answer based on their own beliefs.

Telling someone what they believe and why isn't "pushing" anything, it's merely replying to an inquiry.

If it makes you so mad...don't hang out here!

a million) it isn't merely the Islamic faith. virtually each and every faith has been petrified of another faith for virtually as a techniques lower back as historic past records. Islam is the present spotlight for that through conflict. for the period of WWII it develop into the Jews, and the conflict in accordance to distinction in faith between Iran and Iraq has been waging for thousands of years besides. Hindus look down on Christians, Buddhists count on no god merely divine essence, you %. a area there is someone they hate and someone who hates them. this isn't new. 2) because there's a distinction in the bible used and the appropriate way they worship, there is apparently some heinous act adversarial to the Christian God being done with suggestions from those human beings, and they ought to be stopped/kept. Gee, i have heard that someplace previously. develop into it the Spanish Inquisition possibly? 3) It provides a set of persons to spotlight and "save".
