Okay for what, specifically? If your faith has food restrictions you will have to ask a church leader. Without knowing your faith, we cannot answer.
Some faiths where chocolate chips might not be okay include:
Those who do not permit dairy.
Those who do not permit "pleasure foods" and/or sugar.
Those who do not permit animal products be consumed.
Those who require kosher foods only.
Chocolate chips are made from cacao beans, sugar and usually vanilla. Milk products are also added to some chips (think milk chocolate). If you aren't allowed animal products, you will have to find chocolate that doesn't have milk added.
Hershey's makes kosher chocolate. (Refer to the link below for a list.)
Generally, however, those who have a problem with chocolate and religion are talking about icons -- crosses, the visage of Jesus or Mary, the Magen David, etc. --- made of chocolate being consumed. This is considered by some to be disrespectful. If that's the case, you can have chocolate chips because they aren't made into the form of a religious icon.

Go with the dark chocolate chips.
The health benefits are much greater than milk chocolate.
