When you are picking up the cute little suit you plan for your precious little mutt to swim in, throw in some goggles and floaties. I'd also add a mini noodle. Then enroll in your nearest YMCA's doggie swim class. Here he will meet other little mutts whose owners have too much time on their hands.

teaching a little dog 2 swim is difficult bcuz little dogs hav a ton of energy so she mite not want to swim. but i would start by getting one of thos little wading pools frum walmart or letting her swim in the bathtub--anywhere u can watch her!!!!
once she can swim ther, introduce her 2 the shallow end and let her swim where u can see her so she wont drown. then as she gets bettr, take her deeper and deeper. if u still dont feel comfy about letting her swim alone, ther r dog life vests @ pets mart or pet co.
the chlorine will sting a little like it duz on human eyes, but if she begins to yelp and paw at her eyes, get a washcloth with warm water and gently rub her eyes, but careful she mite nip!!! other than eye-stinging pain, it generally duznt hurt dogs. but long exposure may cause blindnesss or othr eye difficulties. and if she has long hair, dry her b4 she cums inside or after she gets out of the pool. my malamute got a bad rasch frum swimming and not getting dried off. she smelled bad,2!!!
good luck with little doggy!!

Most dogs(at least all that I have had) are natural swimmers. Try getting in the pool with her at first. She should take off by herself. The chlorine shouldn't be a factor but be careful not to keep her in too long. Good Luck!

Well, dog already knows to swim. Just gently put her in the pool(shallow end) and then stand on the step and tell her to come over and she will swim. The chorine won't hurt her, my friend has a 1 year old lab and he dives in to the pool.

Dogs already know how to swim, just set her in your pool and let her swim around with you. That way, if you see she's struggling, then you can help her out.

there is easily no clarification why a canines could be made aggressive. Aggressiveness in canines reflects rigidity and psychological affliction. you may no longer modern-day the prospect to your canines to get stolen. in case you're actually not supervising him, he should not be left on my own in any subject, different than interior your place. Leaving a toy canines exterior on my own places the canines extra in threat for being attacked via yet another animal than being stolen. additionally, no count how "aggressive" a toy canines is, if yet another animal needs to attack it or a individual needs to thieve it, the canines's length is its best draw back and could maximum in all probability never have a scuffling with risk. I also have a canines who's merely 6 lbs. i could never go away him unattended exterior or everywhere else, different than in my homestead for terribly short sessions of time. i do no longer even provide him the run of my homestead on a similar time as i'm no longer homestead because of the fact i does no longer prefer to probability my larger canines by risk injuring him on a similar time as enjoying. I additionally lock the door to the room the place my canines stay on a similar time as i'm no longer homestead. prepared to make your canines extra aggressive is stupid. It sounds such as you have the sweetest canines as your puppy and that i can't have faith that somebody could prefer to alter that for the period of any way. evaluate your self very fortunate.

My understanding is that humans are the only mammals that need to be "taught" to swim. All other creatures are born being able to.

And as far as the chlorine.... I'm sure it will be an irritant. Why wouldn't it be?

Animals know how to swim naturally. If she is having trouble swimming she may either be too young, inexperienced, or she may just dislike swimming.
