Sacrifice something you're doing currently and put that money in a savings account - or give to someone you can trust to hold for you (and tell them, no matter what, don't give you the money until you're ready to pay for your trip). For example, if you're currently buying your lunch most days, why not make your lunch instead. The $5 or so you would have spent on lunch each day adds up to $25 a week you could be saving. $25 times, say 40 weeks, is $1000. Also, if you get your hair done each week, why not change that to every two weeks. I'm surprised your school won't allow students to pay a small amount towards the trip on a weekly or monthly basis. Did you ask about that?

Very thoughtful question. Yes, money is so important but your resourcefulness is even more important in this situation. You can save 75% from the pocket money you get from your parents everyday. Curtail some of the daily spendings and try and save even a penny as a saying goes " a penny saved is a penny earned". There are lots of ways to save penny by penny just being at home . Look for pennies around the corners of the house especially under the sofas, mattress and drawers etc.Or you could even buy a small piggy bank and put it in a conspicuos place at home to invite any volunteer donations from your family members. Psychologically speaking, if you post an attractive note on it like: "You make my dreams come true". ha ha ha ha this way your family members or cousins or relatives will definitely give a second thought and donate some whenever they pass by and this will also help you to grow your savings to some extent. Besides this, if you are a responsible person you could also work as part-time babysitter or tutor or sales etc.or even by selling unwanted household materials on auction at e-bay also helps you make money.

Put an ad in your paper saying exactly that and offer a list of things you'd be willing to do like mow lawns, babysit, housesit, run errands, help with moving, general labor, etc.

Also, start reading the classifieds in your local newspaper.

If you're old enough, get a part time job. Do the math with how many hours you need to work per week at your pay rate so you balance your work with other important parts of your life, like school.

Put up fliers in your neighborhood offering help and express your eagerness to earn money for your trip. If people know your plight, they'll think of you when they need help.

Good luck!

when you have money that is not needed for any bills, fuel, food or rent, put it away! just put it in your savings account or in a secret box in your bedroom. just don't keep that money with you as it would be tempting!
