Without being snobby it is Milan in Italy, out of the fashion show seasons the hotels, even 4 star, are quite reasonable, use the same restaurants as the Milanese and you get great Italian food at super prices. Lots of stores have sales stock ( the golden quadrant, so named because of the streets forming a square, is really amazing but too expensive ) or see the unique Diesel store if you like their clothes there is lots of 1 off and limited designer stuff. Also the sights make it a great trip.
