Hi Gem,

the first step is off course to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. In one part of the gospel God says my sheep hear my voice and they know me. Knowing God is the first step.

Some general principles i can share with you about knowing God's will are:

1) Do God's will. (If we are loving others, reading our bibles, sharing the gospel, etc. we know these are things that please God and i find that as i'm doing those things humbly God shows himself to me).

2) God's will will never violate his Word.

3) Seek the counsel and pray with other believers.

4) Walk closely with God. (the will of God is revealed to the heart that is willing to obey). The more you desire to please God the more that your heart will be filled with the things that pleases Him- surely God will show himself sure to the one who is diligent and faithful.

5) Seek God and not just the answer. i've found that sometimes God's seeming "silences" draws me to seek Him more closely and while God can answer me in a heartbeat- He works with my heart as i long and trust him even when it's hard to. It refines and strengthens my faith and i know that there may be seasons time in life when you have to pray really faithfully for something.

***i hope this helps, and please do email me if i can help answer your question in any other way or if you wanted to share your specific situation... i'm a youth pastor so just trying to serve the Lord by helping others... Bless Ya!

Good question. This is somehting that nearly every believer asks at one time or another and it's perfectly normal. The overwhelming thing a believer wants to do is please God. So. we worry about whether what we wnat to or are planning to do is the "will of God".

Of course there are things that are obviously not the will of God. But you aren't asking about those are you?

The fact is that you are a Christian because Jesus called you. It is His idea and He is able to guide you along as you live your life, keeping you in His will. In short, it's a passive thing. If you want to be in God's will, you probably are. Simply because you've made the choice that it matters.

The closest thing to God's will that we can get an answer on is to ask for wisdom. You can find this in the book of James.

" If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does." (James 1:5-7)

SO ask for wisdom, believing that you are, already in the will of God. The proof is that if you didn't care aboutthe will of God, you wouldn't have ever asked.

Jesus keeps you - always.

If you have proclaimed that Jesus is your Lord and Savior and that the Lord is your father, then you have been redeemed. In order to receive your inheritance from the Lord you must be filled with the Holy Spirit, read and meditate on God's word and start a personal relationship with him. He is your father and he wants to give you nice gifts and shower you with his love. Try talking to him everyday. Think about how you would build a good relationship with your earthly father. You talk to him, ask him questions, thank him etc. He will give you some of your inheritance while you are on earth and the rest you will receive after the rapture.

I hope this helps!

Good question. He didn't go through the trouble of coming down here, telling us he was establishing his church as the New Covenant, suffering ignominy on the cross, just to have us believe *****-nilly whatever we want. All this relativism has everyone interpreting the Bible however they want and starting up new religions daily, because they don't like particular doctrines. This confusion cannot be authored by the Holy Spirit.

What did the apostles and their followers teach about the Church that Jesus handed them?

Do you mean in the center of his will for your life? Listen to what my Pastor has to say about that. He just started a new series by that title and he's a great teacher who has a sense of humor so that you always feel edified and encouraged when you are done listening to him.

I don't know what you mean by "will" is it as in his inheritance to his kingdom or his will as in the way he wants your life to be?
Because, if it is the first, ask in his name to be part of his kingdom and a child of his and to show you his way then you are in his will. If it is in the other, God has already chosen for you a life that he desires for you in his name. But...if it is the desire of your heart ask in his name.

If you believe and do the things he says and if you really care for other people before your self then you should know that you are in his will his thoughts and heart

good question! many times i ask myself that too....

i guess that when you're doing his will, everything else just falls in the right places....everything has to flow naturally....

on the other hand, we're humans and we make mistakes, in case we're not doing his will, he always finds a way to letting us know, so don't worry everything will be just fine :)
trust him, and have faith....
