I am in middle school and my mom keeps buying me roller backpacks. I keep telling her that the kids will make fun of me and that I need a two strap but she is afraid it will hurt my back.

she is just caring about your health. years later from now you will have a good back. yet you could just bring the books you need home. and tell her all you need is a backpack without wheels. Just a simple backpack will do. It depends how many books you need to bring home.

Some roller backpacks have straps on them- compromise with your mom by getting one of those. During the school day, use the straps. Use the wheels around the house, when walking to the bus or her car, etc. I can't have a roller back-pack because it snows here, but I used to have a roller backpack that also had straps- if people made fun of me, I'd just pull it over their shoes or sandals and make it look like an "accident." (Heh heh. XD)

Dear Pink Angel,
Don't worry what other kids say, just be yourself, focus on school. If other kids tease you about having a roller backpack, then you don't need to be around them, and just ignore them. I'm in college and I use a roller backpack and you know what I love it because I'm not breaking my back with the heavy books. Don't worry about what people say, stay strong, and good luck in Middle School.

It won't hurt your back unless you are carrying more than 10 or 15 pounds of books in it and are wearing it for like 2 hours a day. Ask your mom if she had a roller pack when she went to school and if there is anything wrong with her back from not having one. That should settle it.

Well, in middle and high school you'll be made fun of. But, not to be corny, it doesn't really matter what people think right? Use the roller back pack if you please and if it makes you happy.

My teachers tell me this all the time, and its true: 10-20 years from now, its guaranteed that you wont ever see your classmates. And School is to learn, as long as you're happy, forget what people think.

Yes...But who cares. I mean, I didn't have one and I am guilty for making fun of kids that had them, but You really shouldn't care of what others think. We're just mad because you saving shoulder pains by rolling around your backpack while we carry ours. Happy to Help!

Not to be rude, but in middle school anything that is different is made fun of. Now if you have confidence, you can pull it off. maybe start a new trend.
