I watched one episode that I saw on last night. I was surprised to see Ernie Reyes Jr on it because it seemed a little hokey. That is, like most MTV shows, it is like one long, bad music video that somehow managed to cheapen most aspects of martial arts. Just my first impression, though. Afterall, there is no such thing as bad publicity right? Good to see martial arts in popular media at any rate.
Another good point, though, is that it inspired me to get up off my butt and go outside to practice rather than to watch any more TV!

They're certainly giving it a lot of airplay, although MTV2 isn't exactly a large audience.
It was fun watching Ilram get defeated by Brian after showing off in front of the camera with the flips.

to the comment about the cute azn girl: HELL YEA she's hot. the one that does tkd, right?
anyway, that show's a joke. anything with point sparring is a joke. it gives such bad habits, because if you want to sacrifice power for speed, you don't use your hips and use only your legs. i bet you that if one of those guys kicked me, my body would eat up his kick and kick his ***.
what else grinds my gears is the styles they put up. i have only heard of red dragon karate recently, and im pretty sure it's american karate. and then there's an american karate, while real karate styles are either okinawan or japanese. then there's kenpo kung fu (which doesn't friggin exist). yea that's basically it.

Worst show ever!
The other night one of the challenges was kicking open a paperbag. An F--king PAPERBAG.
Come on!
Nine demon is right (even if he has forgotten the ancient masters killed with their bare hands.) The way they spar is total sport. Ineffective in real life.

It suck! Point sparring mean nothing! In real life if that girl was fighting a 6 feet tall guy, the girl would have end up in hospital.

less than half of one episode. The sparring is junk; too target-restricted; too contact-restricted. Torso-tag at its best/worst. Not in any way, shape, or form combative.
No disrespect-
