Your heart stops beating, brain function ceases, blood follows gravity to the lowest point in the body, the skin takes on a less elastic appearance, and if you have lived a fortunate and benevolent life, people will weep.

Do you consider yourself to be a good person? Most people do. Of all the questions you will ask yourself in life, probably the most important is, Am I good enough to go to Heaven? Let's see if you are good enough...Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and we've only looked at three of the Ten Commandments. That's how God sees you. Nothing is hid from His holy eyes. He will even judge our words and thoughts. Perhaps you think that God is good, and will therefore overlook your sins. But it is His goodness that will make sure that murderers, rapists, thieves, liars, etc. receive justice. Will you be innocent or guilty on the Day of Judgment? Listen to your conscience. There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. If you die in your sins there is no second chance. God's Law demands justice, and the penalty for sinning against Him is death and Hell. God will give justice, and sinners will end up in Hell forever. Repent! Repent! Repent!

There are many ideas about what happens when we die. I am going to include a link to an article that talks about some myths about that very subject. It also provides answers from the Bible.

Who is the 'me' that dies? The body definitely decays and gets eaten by worms. What is the 'me', though? Is it the body? Is it the psychological self without the body (but somehow with all the faculties - cognition, sight, hearing, etc. - of a body)? Is this a fictional construct, too? The real answer is we need to find out what we mean by the self. Read 'Who Dies?' and '3 Pillars of Zen' for more info (it's related to the concept of the self that gets created).

Unless you have a special connection to the supernatural, you will only be able to speculate on this question while you are living.

Read some of the theologians and philosophers.
They have speculated on this question, and many views have been espoused throughout the centuries, but if you want proof, none exists.

From the bible stand point of view: You meet Jesus and you are Judged for all you have done here on earth and then it will be determined if you live in peace with him or if you have to live in torture with the devil. Live a good Holy life and then you are guarenteed to go to heaven

One of two things after we are judged by God. WE go to heaven or Hell depending on if we have excepted Christ in our lives or not.
