Then, about 2 months after we moved to a new house, she started pooping beside the litter box. Now she will go anywhere in the room where the litter boxes are. Never in another room. Anybody have any experience/suggestions?

Cats are very fickle. It sounds like your cat isn't happy with the move, and is showing you in the only way she knows how. Keep an eye on where she is pooping. Is it always in the same areas in the room? If it is, either put down more litter boxes or block access to these areas temporarily.

Sometimes cats inappropriately potty on things because they have a health issue, so if you are unsure if your cat is healthy I would suggest taking her to a vet for a checkup.

Unfortunately, once a cat starts not using the litter box it can be really hard to retrain them. Make sure the litter box is always spotlessly clean and there is nothing else that is box like or can be dug in (laundry, towels on the floor, bathmat, etc) that would entice her to poop in. If she continues, you may either have to just deal with it, or let her outside to do her business. Good luck!

My guess is that kitty is upset with the recent move, and this is her way of letting you know her displeasure.

How often are you changing your litter? My 13 year old calico kitty will poop beside/outside the litter box if it's not clean enough to suit her. Then she uses my utility room floor for toilet paper.

I have a friend whose kitty suddenly began peeing everywhere but in the litter box. Said friend took kitty to the vet. Vet couldn't find anything wrong. Friend put kitty outside and made her stay there. Poor kitty was out in all kinds of weather 24/7 (south central Nebraska, yet). Friend finally relented and let kitty back in the house when the temperature dropped below zero and a snowstorm was brewing. As far as I know, kitty has not gone outside the box since.

If you try the above, please let kitty in out of the snow!!

Maybe you should try to teach your cat to go in the litter box or just put your cat at a place where she can feel more relax about not pooping everywhere. i hope that i answer your question

This is not the first time that this has happened. Most cats live the way that they like. It makes them unique over other animals. But when it comes to your clean , bacteria-safe home and a cat, it is time to say good bye
Give the cat up at a shelter quickly and give your house a chance to air out and remain clean for awhile. You will be able to breathe and walk with greater confidence and enjoy the peace of one less thing to pick up.

Did you change litter brands or get her a new box?
I'd suggest cleaning the box every day and leaving it in once place so she gets used to it./

well, maybe hes not ubicated, cause his whole world has changed, maybe you need some patience and wait till he adapt himself again. it maybe take a while. try this: clean very well his box. wherever his pooping on clean it very well and use some fragances that quit his poops odor, so he'll not poop again on there.
