Youre gonna hear that the Bible says its wrong, that it is gross and that it is unnatural. Of course, if they had any wits about them, they'd realize that they cannot call it gross or unnatural unless they TRIED IT.

Dont worry - your lesbian friend will not go to Hell - it doesnt exist. Neither does Heaven or God for that matter....

The only thing I can point you to to show that it is wrong is the bible and you know what it says. In the beginning God made them male & female. Homosexuality is an abomination to God. I am a christian, but I don't hate gay people, I have a dear friend that is gay. I just try to help them understand the way I feel. I believe that being born gay is like being born with any other desease. I think their hormones are all out of whack. I truly believe it is not something they can help, but I do believe they have to make a choice not to act upon how they feel. I believe with God's help they can still live a productive life with the opposite sex partner. I believe by making this choice they are doing more than most straight people to live a good chrisitan life and I highly respect them for it. As a christian I can't accept living that lifestyle as right but I do believe they can make a choice not to live it. I pray for them and let God do the rest.........

Well look at it this way, it's not like homosexuality is "The Big Sin" in Christendom. The Bible puts it in the same category as being greedy or being a drunk or two straight people having sex outside of marriage and says that a man who has casual sex with an unbeliever is defiling the temple of the Holy Spirit. Adultery is considered a major sin and a Pastor who is caught in that sin has to resign his position. So don't think that Christians have some kind of special angst against gay people.

Dear John B. Its no ones business to judge what consenting adults do, whether they are Christian, atheist, Muslim, whatever. Funny that Jesus NEVER said a word for or against gays, but if you want to send a lot of folks into hysterics just mention the word "gay" in connection with say their family, a fellow employee, or the next door neighbor. The rabid anti-gay, anti-gay marriage people all need to fold their tents and go home. Heterosexual marriages will flounder on forever, just as they have always done, and just as gay marriages will and are doing. NO one is going to "turn" someones kid gay, for heavens sake--one either is or is not gay. And its not a choice, for God's sake. Did you "choose" being straight? Was it conscious? Someone I know knew she was gay at age 12 but did not act upon it until an adult. Again I say, live and let live.

It goes against the natural order that God put in motion, it is unnatural for a man to lie with another man and for a woman to lie with another woman. It is the disobedience issue all over again. God says it is wrong, bottom line. The natural use of the female is by the male. To remain homosexual you will lose everlasting life, God will remove all wickedness and those who say it's OK will be removed as wicked also. You must hate what God hates. He does not hate the people, just what they do. You are also wrong if you believe it does not hurt anyone, it hurts the most important person in the universe. It pains God to his heart when people disobey him.

If you know what the Bible says about homosexuality then either you do not understand what you have read, or you do not understand the nature of sin from God's point of view.

From the modern point of view, homosexuality is state of being. From God's point of view it is a harmful behavior. It is not the only sin, although with all the attention it is given in the media one might think it is. And in God's eyes sin is sin.

No one goes to heaven based on their own "good" works. God demands holiness of us. He knows that all of us have fallen short of that standard. He has provided a way of salvation for sinners and it is the same for everyone. It requires turning to God from sin through the cross of Jesus Christ. That cross is where he died to pay the cost of the sin of man. That requires an understanding of our sin and a turning to God in order not to continue to practice sin.

Some people are more prone to overeat than others. Gluttony is a sin. Not "being" a glutton, but "practicing" it.

Some people gossip maliciously. They are called to stop it,
and to use their mouths to speak what is good a virtuous and true.

The problem, as I see it, is that homosexuality is seen as somehow in a different class. Put in the same class with all sin and I think you will understand the problem.

Remember the rich young ruler? He followed all the rules of Judaism, but he still lacked, and wouldn't follow Jesus. It's not the rules, it's the Lord.

Religion at its core, is suppose to teach humans to be kind to one another and live peacefully, but the Bible, in its more than 2000 years existence, have changed a whole lot. Though it's suppose to the teachings of God, it's still written from human interpretations, and humans can be erroneous in our bias. Essentially, there is nothing wrong with homosexuals because whether you're a man loving a man or a woman loving a woman, it's still love. Furthermore, it's not a lifestyle choice like most people believe because, given the choice, homosexuals would not choose to live a life in exile and persecution.

This is a tough subject for a lot of people. The one thing that helps is to try to remember that God's Wisdom and man's wisdom are on two completely different levels. He understands things that we will never know. We just have to believe in our Heavenly Father, that He knows more than we do, and trust in His Wisdom over our's. If He tells us that perversions like homosexuality is an abomination, we should have enough sense to listen. Sodom and Gomorrah weren't obliterated by God because the folks who lived there were rude to strangers. Both of these cities were filled with perversions and homosexuals. The cities were destroyed to send us a pretty clear message.

We may know of individuals who seem like warm, loving people. Good people. When we read that God requires repentance and change from these sins or they will be judged accordingly, we don't feel that is a fair condition. But people aren't being judged on how sweet they are, or if they've never hurt anyone with their acts of perversion. They will have to answer for the fact that they indulged in the perversion of how God has told us to live.

I trust in God's Wisdom over my own, for by comparison, I have none.

I hope this helps to shed a different light on your question.

Some 'christians' pick and choose certain sections of the bible to support their bigoted, dicriminatory and hateful opinions about gay people. They certainly aren't following their teachings - WWJD?
Such people are hurting others (and themselves) much, much more than gay people ever did. You're exactly right - if you don't like gay people, 1) don't have gay sex, 2) leave them alone, and 3) keep your hatred to yourself!

I bet your lesbian friend does more Christian things than the people described above. At least she is helping people vs. defaming them.

For the person above who says that gay people are more likely to commit suicide and be depressed - well, considering the oppression that people like you are causing, can you blame them???
True Christians work for peace, justice, tolerance and equality. Anyone who doesn't is a bigoted hypocrite.

God is how God made me, and God doesn't make junk!! I would be foolish and selfish to ignore or defame any of God's gifts.

Do you consider yourself to be a good person? Most people do. Of all the questions you will ask yourself in life, probably the most important is, Am I good enough to go to Heaven? Let's see if you are good enough...Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and we've only looked at three of the Ten Commandments. That's how God sees you. Nothing is hid from His holy eyes. He will even judge our words and thoughts. Perhaps you think that God is good, and will therefore overlook your sins. But it is His goodness that will make sure that murderers, rapists, thieves, liars, etc. receive justice. Will you be innocent or guilty on the Day of Judgment? Listen to your conscience. There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. If you die in your sins there is no second chance. God's Law demands justice, and the penalty for sinning against Him is death and Hell. God will give you justice, and you will end up in Hell forever. Repent! Repent! Repent!
