I saw many answers over here that really disappoint me. I really cannot understand how can ppl slap humanity right at the face even when it is staring right in front of their eyes? Lebanese are dying. Hundreds of them. The same goes to the Palestinians. Is it because they are Arabs and Muslims thus their lives aint worth knowing or caring? When someone else apart from Arabs are being killed, an exclusive in the media is dedicated to them. Meanings of their name, how they die, how their family feels, their funeral and everything else is being shown on tv. When hundreds of Arabs die.. they are just shown as numbers on tv. Sometimes even none. The Arabs to the world community seems to be dispensable. What has happened to humanity?
Hezbollah is labelled as a terrorist group in Israel and the US, but not in Lebanon or the Arab countries. They are the symbol of resistance in Lebanon. They are in fact part of the political party in Lebanon. What does Israel promise? They never did promise anything. Heck, they never even comply to the UN resolution yet for the war crimes they committed since 1960's. They are still occupying territories they held illegally. 6 months ago, the Syrian army were driven away from Lebanon by the US claiming that they are preventing democracy. I say, the reason why the Syrian army were driven away with the help of the UN is to prepare for this invasion. Today, the Lebanese are helpless.. they are without an army. Soldiers are poorly armed and the only real army they have that is defending Lebanon at the moment is Hezbollah. Syrian army used to be the lebanese's army. Now they can only watch in agony as the Israeli are terrorising the Lebanese.
Why cant Hezbollah release the 2 prisoners? Cos Hezbollah's leader is the man of his words and he said before the attack that no attack will let them go except a negotiation for prisoners swap. Besides, letting the 2 prisoners go is not gonna stop the Israelis now. Does anyone really think that the Israeli Government rather care for 2 of their soldiers' lives that were kidnapped when more than 10 of their soldiers already died in this invasion? It was never about the 2 soldiers. It was just an excuse. They want the Hezbollah either wiped out or disarm. And after they do, the Israeli is going to create a buffer zone in South Lebanon which in the end would mean reoccupation.

Without visiting the sites, I have seen the news, killing innocent people and destroying all Lebanon infrastructure. Thousands of Lebanons were arrested by Israel even before the 2 solders event. The worst case is that Israel action is fully supported by USA!!! When it comes to international law, keep away Israel as it never follows or cares about International Law!

What is going on is a deterrent to it ever happening again. Hezbollah could have stopped all of this from happening and could have stopped it after it had started. If Israel does nothing, when they are attacked that invites Hezbollah or another terrorist group to do it again. The people of Lebanon are not innocent as they have allowed Hezbollah to do this to Israel, they allowed them to fire rockets from their homes which continues the war, and they continue to support them as they are being bombed. The people of Lebanon are crying about how hot the fire is all the while the are adding fuel to the flames. What horrible thing would happen if Hezbollah laid down their arms and returned the soldiers they kidnapped? It would all be finished. and the Lebanese people could begin to rebuild the damage caused by Hezbollah.

I see your problem, you have a split personality - being from 3 countries & all. Our soldiers have the same value as civilans in our homeland. Israel's soldiers were in their own homeland when kidnapped, not in war or in Lebanon. Israel started after Hezbollah only but Lebanon refused to help achieve the return of the soldiers. Hezbollah has a ruling seat on Lebanon's goverment board, so they are part of Lebanon. They made the choice & now they pay the price.
The dumb misuse of the Genevoa Convention - the use as quoted would make all war against rules.

Invading Israel and killing then abducting soldiers is an act of war. Don't start a war unless you are prepared for the consequences.
The reason that civilians are being killed in Lebanon is because Hezbollah fighters are hiding among the population. There is no honor in hiding from your enemies behind your children and the skirts of your wives. That is why the use of human shields and not identifying yourself as a combatant is illegal by the international rules of war and considered a war crime.
The government of lebanon is responsible for the actions of part of their government. Since Hezbollah is an official part of the government then attacks against the rest of Lebanon are legitimate.
At what number of murdered citizens should Israel draw the line? 2? 20, 200? 6,000,000?

Mikala-USA!!!
i can only hope my country will fight for me as hard as Israel is fighting for it's soldiers and citizens. They are not trying to kill innocent civilians, but when Hezbollah hides and has their headquarters
among the civilian neighborhoods then what can they expect.
personally i think Hezbollah is deliberately hiding among the populous like child hiding behind it mothers skirts and hoping the boogy man wont go through the mother to get to them. they are cowards. if they really cared about the civilians they would move out of the civilian populated areas. Israel told the civilians to get out. Hezbollah & Hamas started this, and have kept this fight going on for years, now Israel is trying to finish it. If Hezbollah and Hamas and for the matter Al Qaeda, think they can keep getting away with the deliberate killings and kidnappings then they will continue to try. Now that Israel has decided to stop taking the thier crap and attack back everyone starts crying foul, when Israel is the primary one under attack and has been for years. I think it is about time someone stood up againts these murdering/kidnapping bullies and i say good for Israel!(ps and no i'm neither israeli nor jewish). what about all the innocent Israelis that are being killed AND the innocent arabs that are being killed and NOT by Israel. Egypt and Jordan have accepted Israel and get along, what is wrong with the rest of the arab nations.
Don't ask ignorant questions!!!!!

You are correct in that CNN never shows dead bodies in wars. That is wrong. The first website you showed was interesting and informative. The second website was dishonest your part and were not pictures of the current war in Lebanon. To me a dead child is no different than a dead grown man, both lives are of equal value. I would have been equally interested in seeing pictures of dead soldiers. CNN has terrible coverage and hides in wars. They will never be able to film live war or get footage or fighting between Hezbollah and the Israels.
Are two soldiers worth it? No, probably not. It a real shame that Lebanon has been bombed after it was just rebuilt. And with such beautiful beaches. It's a shame the citizens allowed Hezbollah to take root in their country and harass the Israels too. They should have just left them alone. This will not end until Israel bombs the nuclear power plant in Iran in my opinion.

Sorry friend, you're mistaken. The whole of Lebanon would be easier. They're just rooting out Hezbollah. Lebanon easily could have solved it's own problem by arresting these criminals years ago, and they refused. Not only that, but the deaths of their citizens are on their own hands. Israel states the next days target every day. Lebanon intentionally left it's citizens in harm's way just so it could show the pictures of Israel's "atrocities" that you have now. Lebanon had plenty of time to evacuate those people, and chose not to for the photo opportunity.

keep twisting the truth as terroist always do. I don't know whay I should explain to you waht is going on as I am sure you are well aware of the truth. Hezbollah went into Israel and killed soldiers and took to captive with the idea that they could trade Honest soldiers kidnapped from there land for terroist who have been found guilty in Israel for crimes committed against Isreal on Israeli soil. Isreal was and Is being attacked by missles civilians In Israel are being killed. Now Hezbollah was odred years ago to surrende there weapons by the U.N. criminal act number one they never did. Criminal act two they entered Israel and killed and kidnapped soldiers. Now Israel actsin defense of it's country and the world knows it. Innocents are being killed in Israel and in Lebanon as a result of the terroist acts of Hezbollah who hide themselves in civilian areas. there is no one to blame but the terrorist Hezbollah for the deaths of innocents in Israel and in Lebanon. Israel will galdly stop the pursuit of Hezballoh should they surrender there arms and surender the soldiers they took which again proves that they (Hezballah) have no respect for the innocent lives of Israelis or the Lebanese.

I will agree that Israel is overdoing it. I mean, if Lebanon had captured 4 soldiers would Israel have nuked them right away? lol
War should never to taken upon lightly, but you have to consider Israel has been giving up many valuable resources lately with only a promise in return. They feel betrayed when another country goes and does something like this so I can't blame them.
