Okay, a couple nights ago I was lying in bed wide awake, and I started to see blue lights flashing in my room. They weren't big though. They would come and go to different parts of the room. Do you know what it looks like to see lightening bugs when it's dark outside? Well, it was like that, but blue. Then I started hearing screaming in my hear and it became so intense that I had to run downstairs. The lights were getting more intense as well. I ran downstairs and started crying, but the screaming wasn't going away. After awhile, I started to hear a conversation going on between two people, but I couldn't make out what anybody was saying. I eventually calmed down and fell asleep, but the screaming never went away. I just learned to ignore it. I even heard the screaming the next morning when I woke up. My family thought that someone could have slipped LSD in my food, but would the affects of the drug last for days? Other than drugs, what could have made me have a hallucination?

Well, at first I thought that the lights could have been from cop cars, but they weren't near the widows. I don't think I ever fell asleep, but it's a possibility. I wasn't sleep walking because I woke up my family. They thought that I was going crazy! lol. I don't blame them though. I don't do drugs, but I went out to eat that night, so something could have been slipped in my food. I just want a logical explaination.

by the way, this has never happened to me before. I'm a very logical person. I really don't like to believe in the paranormal. By the way, I did go back upstairs after I had calmed down for a little while. The weird thing is, is that I can still hear screaming sometimes if I listen for it.

sorry! More details! Kaplah, thanks for your imput! lol. I have had problems sleeping since that night. I still hear things. I was still hearing things when my family came to see what was wrong, but they didn't hear anything, so I guess it must be something wrong with me. when this was happening to me, i couldn't move until it got so intense that I had to run out of the room! i know I sound crazy, don't I? lol.

This may or may not help, it's a condition called sleep paralysis, I've experienced it myself.

LSD lasts for a hella long time. I tried it once and wondered thereafter why anyone would want to trip that long. Long after you're done saying, "Hey yea, cool I'm tripping", you're saying "Okay, when's this stuff wear off." and you can't sleep either. So I don't think you were tripping. There are conditions that can cause you to see flashing lights and there are conditions that can cause you to hear constant noise in your ear. I personally hear rushing in my ear like traffic pretty often. I have Meniere's Disease. Other people with this condition hear noises that sound like screaming, but it's constant, as in, the screamer doesn't stop for breath, you just here the EEEEEEEE like a scream but it goes on and on. People with Narcalepsy often have strange hallucinations as they drift off to sleep and can even get up, walk around and talk while still sleeping and dreaming. Hallucinations can be seeing, hearing and feeling things. If I were you, I'd get checked out and maybe have a sleep study done.

If you turn out perfectly healthy, you might want to do a smudge on your house just to make sure there aren't any strange energies floating around, though it could have been a one time deal too. If your family was present and didn't see or hear what you did, I'm inclined to suspect that we're looking at some sort of neurological problem rather than a paranormal issue.

LSD could last for days hell it did in the 60's but I think you were half a sleep and what you heard and saw could have been cops, or a television in another building or just a dream and when you woke it was real as you are or at least it seemed so, it could have been anything so don't worry these things happen to people all the time and no drugs are needed.

Sounds like you had a dream that was so real, you thought you were awake, and then fell back asleep in the dream....

LSD can last about 8 hours, depending on the doseage. But that doesnt sound likely. Sounds like a dream only... See, you said you ran downstairs and started crying - did your family wiitness this??? When/how did you calm down and "eventually fall asleep"? You never mentioned going back upstairs.... It was all a dream....

Other than the part where you still heard screaming the next morning, it sounds like sleep paralysis.

Did you tell anyone you were still hearing screaming when you woke up? If not, that's probably a false memory caused by the sleep paralysis.

Don't discount this possibility. People who suffer from sleep paralysis will swear up and down it really happened, because the memory seems so real.

Sounds to me like night terrors. Even though you think you are awake you are actually sleeping and dreaming. Night terrors are definitely real things though. The best to check out about them is to research them on the internet. If this problem persists or starts getting worse I would go to see a doctor because night terrors can be caused by severe diseases and infections in the brain and it is no laughing matter.

You may have a low grade infection causing a fever. If it happens again, check with a doctor who may recommend further testing. Unfortunately LSD and some other substances can cause reactions days or even years after ingestion. Do get immediate assistance if another episode occurs again.

I do think that the effects of LSD can last for a couple of days. You may have really been asleep but thought that you were awake, or it may have been a sort of out of body experience.

Alot of hullucinagens will cause flash backs. I know that Acid is actually stored in the fat cells in your body and years from now if you were to ever burn those fat cells you would start tripping again. Don't know anything about LSD though!

If anything like that happens again, get yourself checked out by a neurosurgeon... CAT scan, etc. Auditory and visual hallucinations are sometimes symptomatic of a brain tumor.

Have you had a repetition of this experience, or have you had similar experiences? If not, this may be an isolated occurrence. On the other hand, if you have had more since this or other similar experiences, you might want to investigate the possibility of a psychotic mental disorder.
