It shouldn't be a gender question. If either a man or a woman can not carry their weight, and I mean this both literally and figuratively, than they should both be kicked out of the special forces. There are a lot of women who can hang with the best, and I think that should entitled them to be the best, along with the men who can preform at that level. Good luck if you are thinking about trying, it will not be easy.

this was sent by me about 12 hours ago to someone asking about the same question and since i have personal first hand knowledge of these schools and there requirements as it pertains to Army Ranger, Special forces, and Delta. specifically my answer is as follows.
while there are many things a woman can do in the military, special ops of any kind is just not one of them, now don't get me wrong here I'm not trying in any way to put the female gender down and their are some woman who could probably pass the mental aspects of some of these schools but physically it will never happen. the schools and courses required to make any special ops tabs are designed to break you mentally and more so physically, and there are more men who do not make the grade than those who do.also the military should make no exceptions to these requirements. now with that being said i think that woman should have the same rights as men but to try and lower the standards of any of our special ops schools (IE Rangers, Q-course: Special forces, Delta, Navy Seal, Marine Recon, Air force special ops) would severely jeopardize our mission and erode the very foundation that has made us what we are today. now I'm not sure who you are asking this for? but it seems that by wanting to be special ops you or they have strong feelings towards the community and if this be the case then i would ask for your continued support.

The biggest thing that worries me about women in combat is. The fact that if they get captured I would hate to see or hear of a woman getting raped for my freedoms. I do beleive some can do the job, however they should have to perform right along side the men, no double standards, like there is in the rest of the service. If i get hit I am not going to have time to loose 80 lbs because a female has to carry me out, because she was given double standards to get in and go through the training. However if she can do the job, the only thing I have against it is what I said above.

Only an extremely small percentage of women could hack it. And I do mean small. Look, they had to change the requirements in my town for firemen so that women could pass the test (which I think is total bullsh*t). It used to be you had to be able to RUN up 4 floors carrying 120 Lbs on your back in under a certain time (30 seconds if I remember correctly). They changed it to 50 Lbs. The point isn't that women are inferior, but that there are simply obvious physical differences between the sexes, haven't you noticed?
I would be all for women joining the special forces, but only if they do NOT change the test to make it easier on them.

Well coming from a former Marine that spent 4 years with a Force Recon Battalion and served during the first Gulf War I agree with the mom thats not willing to lose her son just to prove equal rights. I also agree with the fact that women have issues that men dont have to deal with. I'll put it this way......the enemy uses dogs just like we do, so if there is a woman in my squad and she is on the rag that dog will pick up her scent from a mile away. Point being is this.....either she is gonna give away my position and get me and the rest of my squad killed or we solve the problem ourselves. Know what I mean.....she was KIA.....thats all anyone needs to know.

women arent as strong as men. bottom line. women have tit$ that get in the way. women have feminine issues to worry about. women dont have the sort of bone crushing testosterone that men do.
all facts. women are good communicators. often very good shots. and many have the right kind of attitude. a woman can be trained to be a killing machine yes. ...but when youre selecting the cream of the crop for warriors... youre only going to get one woman for every 10,000 guys. and within a month she'll be pregnant.
sorry.

I agree with you... I have thought that since before I watched Demi Moore become a Navy SEAL in GI Jane. I am all for it if they hold the women to the same standards as the men, and the women are able to carry their own weight.

If they could pass all the same tests as every one else than yes. However they have to work together like a well oiled machine. I don't think the men are mentally ready for that. Before you say that's their problem I would have to say the mission always has to come first. That makes their problem your problem.

this question was already asked, and answers were already given, the standard woman, no, a woman who is very athletic does not require any special hygiene (ie does not have her periods) yeah maybe, but they would have to meet all the same standards the men meet, no double standard like the in everything else the military does.

No, women are not. Yes a woman's body can endure more pain, but the psychological part women and lacking. That is the truth of years of research.
