For Basic Buttercream Icing or frosting you will need:
1 stick of butter at room temp.
1 box of powered sugar
1 tsp vanillia extract
Using a hand mixer cream together the butter and the sugar till smooth. Add the vanillia and mix in. Add food coloring if you want color.

Chocolate Icing
* 1 square of chocolate, unsweetened
* 6 tablespoons boiling water
* 1/3 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 3/4 cups confectioners sugar
Melt chocolate in top of double boiler, add boiling water and stir until smooth; add vanilla and the sugar; stir until mixture is smooth. Or dissolve 1/3 cup cocoa in boiling water. A little cinnamon may be added.
Mix all together in a saucepan. Let boil until it
forms a soft ball in ice cold water. Beat till
creamy. Spread on cake.

Angel Frosting;
1 pkg lemon instant pudding
1c milk
1 ctn of cool whip
2 tsp icing surgar & vanilla
Mix pudding and milk, add cool whip, whip icing surgar and vanilla, let set in fridge for 1hr and then ice cake.
Butterscotch Icing;
3tlbsp margarine
3tlbsp milk
1/2 cup brrown surgar
12/3 c sifted icing surgar
1tsp vanilla
In saucepan combine margarine,milk and surgar,heat untill surgar is dissolved,beat in icing surgar and vanilla and beat until creamy.
Caramel Icing:
2 c brown surgar
2/3 c evaporated milk or cream
1/2 stic oleo
2 tsp of vanilla
Mix and bring to boil, add powder surgar to a spreading consistency( approximately 1 lb) Nuts may be add if desired.
Low calorie icing:
1 c milk
1c icing surgar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup of butter
In a double boiler cook ingredients until thick,then cool,beat until fluffy.

This icing isn't to sweet and it is rich and creamy. I guarantee you'll love it once you try it.
Icing
1 c. milk
3 Tlbs. flour
Cook over medium eat stirring constantly till thick. Set aside to cool.
In a mixing bowl add
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2. c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
Beat until creamy (make sure you beat long enough so that sugar isn't grainy) Add flour mixture and beat 2 minutes more on hi speed.

You can buy some now that you just add water to, get it from the supermarket. You can get it ready made as well, all you have to do is roll it out.
Go to your local supermarket and look in the baking ingredients isle, I'm sure you will find some there. I know they sell it at Tesco and Asda, in USA it would be Walmart.

place 3 strips of waxed paper decrease than the 1st one in a triangle, out in the direction of the outer edges. place first cake down on that. placed some icing in middle and unfold. place 2d cake on top. Ice top, and then ice facets. Pull the waxed paper out and your plate is additionally clean and it will look super!

the easiest way is to buy a box or bag of confectioner's sugar (also goes by powdered sugar, 10X sugar) there is a good buttercream icing on the package. pretty standard. good luck!
