several I can think of

1) emphasis on the heart and commands to the heart
to love mercy, to love God and others... He has shown you oh man what to do but to do justice and LOVE MERCY and walk humbly with your God Micah a command to the heart
2) emphasis on eyewitness substantiated miracles and God making a name for himself through history for His glory
3) emphasis on letting God serve you first instead of you serving him The son of man has not come to be served but to serve and give his life a ransom for many Mark 8:45, then one serves in love in response and in a new way
4) I think the special place mankind has in creation, God uses language of highly personal investment when talking about man bing made in his own image and being very good after Eve is made.... and taking man made from the lowly dust, and reddeming fallen man to be lifted to become the bride of christ higher than the angels

Hmmm.. perplexing... nice question...

Though it is partially obvious- Jesus... but this is why.... Other religions have deities (sp?) that they also worship and praise, but no other religion has such a historical figure that is as widely known, recognized and emulated.

Those that practice Christianity, while not all, tend to be peaceful, meek, seeking and giving the best from others and themselves, and hold a specific standard of living that other religions cannot profess. Never before has a particular group been so viciously tortured and sought after to be eradicated throughout the centuries (not just one generation such as Hitler after the Jews, but most political entities) as the Christian religion. Additionally, while some of my points may be able to be disputed... there has never been a book that has prophesied and fulfilled in accuracy again and again in history- with historical documents to back it up- which the Christians use as their basis for their faith... The Bible.

Amazing.

True Christianity is different because the basis of it is that God is trying to reach man were other religions are man's attempt to either, reach, become or deny God. Because sin has created this great void between God and man the only way this void could be crossed was if God built the bridge, which He did through the sacrifice of His son. Most religions are based on what man can do to reach God through works. This even includes a lot of the Christian denominations you see. The error is that they think if we do good works then that will somehow erase any bad that we have done. Think about a man who goes before a judge for murder. This man is found guilty in the eyes of the law. The judge says to the man you have been accused and fould guilty of murder, do you have anything to say for yourself. But, your honor, the man says. I have participated in many community service events, I always give money to the poor, feed and give clothes to the homeless, etc. What would you think if the judge let the man go? You would be angry a call for the immediate dismisal of the judge would you not? If he is a good judge then shouldn't the man be punished for his crimes. If we hold these standards to a human judge then how much more should we hold them to God. If He is a righteous judge then he will condemn rapists, murderers, theives to hell, but the bible says He won't stop there. He will also condemn liars, adulterers, fornicators, etc. No sin shall be justified in the eyes of the Lord just as no crime would be justified in our eyes. This is what God does through Christianity, in knowing that we ALL fall short of the glory of God, God has made a provision for us to obtain eternal life in heaven through the sacrifice of His Son....no other religion does this.

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!!!!!! All of you are wrong! All "religions" have some form of Jesus and love and other things that Christianity has. The difference between Christianity and all other religions is that the God of Issac, Jacob, Abraham, David, the I AM, the Son of Man, the Alpha and the Omega, the A and the Z, the beginning and the end, is alive! He is no longer here, He has risen! Jesus is Alive! You will never find His body lying somewhere in tomb....you cannot find the remains of His bones....we worship a true....living.....God.....not someone who is dead. JESUS IS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Authentic Christianity is very different from any religion, including the christian religion. In a religion, man is supposed to earn the favor of God through whatever action, speach, thought. . .
Through Jesus, we already have the full acceptance and favor of the Holy (whole) God, just as we are, presant tense, today.

May I suggest this online book?

We have a Lord and Saviour in Jesus Christ. All we have to do is have FAITH in him that he is our Lord and Saviour. All other religions rely on works. Praying 15 time a day, killing infidels, giving money and possessions away, living in poverty, etc. These works will not get ANYONE to Heaven because they have all sinned at least once. No one is perfect. The only way to make it, is to have a Saviour who has taken away your sins, like Jesus Christ. No other religion has a Saviour. They ALL rely on their works which is fruitless because they have all sinned. Christians have all sinned also, but we are forgiven through our Faith in Jesus Christ who died for OUR sins.........Gotta go with what Todd B said also.........

Christianity teaches that Jesus was the messiah. Other religions do not. That is, by far, the most significant distinction.

That Christians believe Jesus to be the Messiah. Oh and that the Catholic sect of Christians believe that Jesus is divine. Hope that wasn't stating the obvious.

There is only one "church" The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The Head. For all those who come to God in The Way He proscribes They will receive God's free Gift of Salvation.

I know this, as one of The Christian Faith, to be The Only Way for any one to have the assurance of a place in Heaven.

I did not get this from any book or teaching of man...I Recieved this Truth in The Truth of my Salvation. It is God's promise and assurance to me... it is available to all who come to God in His Way.

I accept honest email questions concerning the Christian Faith. Or, you can check me out at:

The most significant distinction of Christianity is its doctrine of Incarnation that teaches that the creator of all life is a loving god who became human to draw all into him/her to have eternal life through his incarnation, death and coming to life again.
