You can get help. Go to your doctor and explain your symptoms. Depression and anxiety can be treated and you will find that nagging discontent will go away.
People will tell you to just be happy. They do not know what depression feels like. The hardest thing for a depressed person to do is get help, so don't wait, get help now.

i don't know but I know someone who is like that and they end up taking everything out on their family. Trying looking at yourself from that point of view (someone elses) maybe it might help you change if u see yourself from someone's eyes. ....
if not it might be out of your reach, if u see a doctor, don't only see one! and don't go with the doctor who wants to just throw a drug prescription your way and be done with you . Get different opinions, I have an autistic son and 90% of the parents of autistic kids say that their pediatricians blew off autism even till the age of 3 when the parents were saying something was wrong...i know that happened to me. It's no sweat of the doctors back if he doesn't give you the advice or treatment that is best for YOU! You have to take care of yourself.....no one else is.
Another thing you can try is try to hang around positive and outgoing people....maybe you could ask them how they are always so positive and have a conversation about it.
Last resort, Pray! If you don't believe in God then that might be your problem right there. Pray to God, talk to him and let him worry about your problems......that's what you're supposed to do as a Christian anyway....
Good luck!

Maybe you are bipolar. I would see a doctor. I did and they can help you if you are. I am pleasant most of the time, but when stress gets to me , I can be a lioness. Some of it depends on you to look for your life being half full instead of half empty. A postive outlook on life always helps, but if for some reason you seem to dwell on what seems to be only the small hangups in your life it does cause anxiety , stress and depression and that is something only a doctor can help you get through without risking your sanity.

Faith and love only comes to those who god favors. That's why I plan to hang myself tommorow night.
A year ago my ex-girlfriend and I were drinking and fighting. We both had been sober in AA before, but we started drinking together.
Anyway, she left me almost 1 year to the day today. We both went back to AA. Because she's a pretty girl lots of people rallied around her to support. All the men wanted to sleep with her, and some of them convinced her to do it.
She's sober, happy, and has a new boyfriend - my old sponsor. Go figure huh?
I went back the same day. No one shook my hand. No one said hello. No one welcomed me except during the obligitory 'hi bill' at all AA meetings.
I have not made a single friend during the past 3 years. The people who I thought were my friends, are hers. I have no money to pay for counceling nor can I afford any medical attention.
Somehow, the only option I see that will end this pain is to end my life. I plan to hang myself tommorow
Maybe god doesn't love you either.

You're asking the impossible - nobody's happy and pleasant always, and positive in every step they take. Be glad about your health, job, what you have. If the nagging doesn't go away, get into the front seat and drive yourself to a shrink.

Well, you can't ALWAYS be happy and pleasant. Everyone has a bad day once in a while. You might be depressed. You should talk to a therapist and make sure everything's fine.

Go to your doctor and be completely honest with him about your feelings. You could suffer from bipolar disorder-or you may simply need talk therapy. Being able to talk with an outside party may be just what you need.
Also, every morning, start out with going to a mirror and say 5 "affirmations"-all the good things about you and your life.

Talk to a Doctor, You sound like you might have either mild depression or some sort of anxiety disorder. Both can be treated if you talk to a Dr.
