What do the russian words " batuchka" & " matuchka " mean?

matuchka = mummy

batuchka = daddy [talking abt an orthodox pope as well]

Nowadays those words mean " the priest in a church" and matushka = the wife of the priest.

If you found the words in a literature, people in old days used to call their parents that batushka would be father and matushka - mother, but now you just say " mama" for mother and papa or otets for father.

I think they mean Dad and Mom but don't quote me on that.
