My cousin and I were very close as kids. She's finally getting married. I can't buy her a gift since the sites she has a registry with are no where near me. What is the appropriate dollar amount to include with a card--$50, $100? Just curious what other people do. Thanks!

Go on line and review her gift registry list at the designated store.. Either purchase the gift you choose on line, phone the store and do a credit card purchase and have the gift shipped to the bride, or send the same amount of money that the gift would cost along w/ a note......for your gravy boat, or for the toaster of your choice or just send the cash and say, "please have a special dinner on me and make a wonderful memory w/ your new husband/wife."

I would say 100 dollars....since you are close...more if you can afford it....

does the stores have websites...or are they online....you can always call and get a gift card to the stores for her to get what she needs or wants..but money or a check is usually the best!

have fun!

You guys are cheap! you have to think about how much the wedding costs - then cover your share - the cost of your food, flowers, band, cake, etc bare min should be $100 per person... now for a cousin, well i gave my cousing $1000 and i am a broke ***! just remember, when you get married they will give it right back!

well that's a nice question.if you can spare $100 easily then $100 with gift will be nice.
but your emotional attachment with your cousin is more important than money.

Standard around here is at least $100. (NYC area). And you were very close as kids as you said. So, I'd say at least that.

$50.00 for each adult attending. That *usually* covers (or almost covers) your meal.

Hope that helps!
