I did. I wondered if anyone else caught this.. The older (very accomplished) young lady - wanted to attend Princeton and get a full scholarship. She didn't get into Princeton, but a college in California (of course) accepted her. Although I had a lot of compassion for her (and her family's) situation, I found myself wondering how many American lower income students would lose their place at that school and the money that she will get in scholarhips - although she isn't a citizen. I mean she worked hard, but I am sure there are American students who did that too and need the cash for an education. Did anyone else find this a bit offensive? Please don't spout crap and insults. If you disagree, disagree, but be respectful and state your position.

I watched the episode and found myself kind of asking the same question. I kind of just assumed because she was illegal it would be even tougher for her to not only be accepted but receive a scholarship to a college. Maybe their standards for college acceptance are different in California since it is such a "Culturally Diverse" state where there are a large number of illegal citizens there. I'm glad she is trying to do something with herself-education wise and hope she will find a way to become a citizen legally. i'm sure she will have alot to offer both this country and her family as well.*

I watched it the mother has been in this country for 12 years and cannot speak one word of English, that is shameful, even the father can not speak one word, they are both young enough to learn English, 12 years and not one word, come on that is ridiculous. And that minute man was an Idiot, when the girl asked him a question about the first people that came to America weren't they illegal, and the minute man said no I think we owned it or the British owned it, I can't believe he went to school here and dose not no our history. They should have found some one smarter than him.

I disagree. I didnt see the show, but I feel that regardless of legal status, if you earn a scholarship, you should be entitled to it, did you hear the story about where the high school student won the pepsi scholarship for a paper that he wrote, but was denied it due to being illegally in the US. I think that sometimes people are racist by allowing minorities to have certain scholarships due soley to the color of their skin, while others cannot receive them.

I respectfully regret to say that I am sorry....but I'm not!

These people should not have ever been here in the first place. Period....they did not deserve their free education, their jobs, or anything else. They should be grateful for what they DID steal from us.

Any time an illegal bumps an American out of anything, it is wrong...Again, if they were not here...it would not have happened!

La Marta La Marta La Marta La Marta!

Deport the television stars and let them be in a Mexican soap opera!

sure I watched it final night, the 1st time, and probable the final, i visit agree the deplorable situations of the residing house in Mexico, in spite of the shown fact that, the family got here right here illegally and can be deported, it quite is not the U. S. states duty that Mexico does not take care or their own and are compelled again right here, opposite the situations and take a bad family from our usa and see what the Mexican government might do for them.

Yes, I saw part of it. The dishonsty of TV coverage and the emotional slant on the whole thing/part I was able to see/tolerate, turned my stomach. I felt it was quite inaccurate. Showing some abandoned building site with a staganant well and representing people live this way. I couldn't stand to watch it, it made me so angry.
I've been to Mexico, I've seen these kinds of situations of "poverty" in Mexico and elsehwhere down there. Most of the people I witnessed, made very good lives for themselves on very little. They were all reasonably healthy, well fed and industrious. Just because they didn't drive a BMW or ? doesn't make them poor to the point they would drink that nasty looking well water. They may have bathed in it but drinking water is available in most of Mexico in bottles. It's dirt cheap.
I also, continued to think of those in the US that lost out to the interruption by that family in total. If people can't support their families in proper order, then they shouldn't have so many or any ...children! You don't breed unless life is good! The folks that come here the illegal way, are oppotunistic, lawless people. What they do here, is criminal and you can't argue that. What about legal immigrants that did the process? I support the legal approach for anyone who will endure it and become and American.
To come up here and be lawless, as they are in Mexico, (I say Mexico cuz 80% of illegals are from that country.) and expect us to open our arms and hearts to them, goes against reason and self preservation after a certain point. We have reached that point in spades. (Most of the flags I saw waving in the Day without a Gringo March were Mexican, by the way.).

Those of you who don't see this will soon, if you are not careful, fall prey to what these folks are bringing up to the USA. Imagine what that well water contains for instance. TB, typhoid, etc. (These diseases are exploding in the US right now. Hmmmm? Wonder why?) They are bathing in it. I'm horrified for them as I am for all people in the world who are mistreated by their government. Kinda like the American Gov. looking the other way on illegals as they flood in. Typhoid it's not, but the effect of it on our economy and culture, will kill/cripple as surely as any infectious diseases. Just watch and see. It's already happening and will get worse if these kinds of pro illegal imm. Hollywood Reality shows have their intended effect.
These illegals need to be coraled and to get papers and to go home regularly and NOT become citizens unless they go through the process. If they can come and get work fine. As long as their employer is paying for their healthcare, welfare etc. And no more anchor babies or chain immigration!
