remove any sources of standing water, ie water barrels, bird baths etc, these are breeding grounds for mosquitoes... deet is the only chemical that really works, but it is genetically harmful

Citronella, "Skin so Soft" and "OFF" (need high concentration of DEET) have already been suggested. Some claim taking Vitamin B12 helps (check for max dosages and possible side effects). A smelly cigar or pipe also works - as does sitting in the smoke of a campfire.

Yup. i've got had a lot of successes. the key is to comprehend the technical component to the trick and then be attentive to for whom you're appearing. i do no longer do concepts examining/e book checks for toddlers. this is no longer magic for them. My sought after tricks are tricks with funds. anybody has dealt with funds. They be attentive to what it sounds like and what it may do. while all of it promptly disappears or alterations, this is extraordinarily magical.

I use natural lavender oil mixed with water, sprayed through a spray bottle. Get a cutting of lavender and lift it into the swarm to see what happens.
not listed in the link but just as effective.
I love this natural stuff.

I lived down in Ecuador S. A. and worked down in the jungle. they have giant insects and most bite. the telephone cables we put in down there were filled with silicone greasee, and we would splice a cable and noticed that where we had the greas on us the bugs wouldn't bite. now silicone grease is about like vasoline jelly and u would think u don't want that on u in the hot jungle but it seams to disappear . Silicone is used in electronics because it does not conduct electricity .
hope this helps

Avon Skin So Soft green fragrance oil spray (woodland fresh or something).
Recommended to me by a nice lady when i got bitten alive in Cyprus one year - way better than proper mozzie sprays in my opinion.
Avon in America do sun protection with 'Bug Guard' which is also excellent but you cant get it here in the UK - got mine off Ebay!
Hope this helps!

Eat garlic...apparently the mossies hate it. Lavender bushes planted in your garden close to where you sit will discourage them as well, as will rubbing lemon on your exposed skin - could be a bit painful that one though!!
