I have straight hair and I would really like to have curly hair, but I am pretty specific about what type of curls, right now every so often I wear curlers at night and I usually like how it looks, but it doesn't last long enough.
I would like to have curls like these:

for those of you wo watch Phantom and 24, you know what I am talking about, is there a perm that can make my hair like that? The perms my friends have gotten were kinky or too tight and separated and not for me.

Any honest hairstylist will tell you, u will not achieve natural looking waves (they drop out),spirals (they go shaggy) etc with a perm. Try using molten browns (a type of roller) then when u go to bed put ur hair up in a loose high ponytail. When u let it down the following day the curls look even more natural!
Try to do this for a few days, and if ur hair looks greasy sprinkle some talc on ur hands and gently apply 2 ur scalp to soak it up.
Apply spray and it will last longer and not get so dirty. Remember 2 use a clarifying shampoo to take out excess spray. Always finish setting with cool air and keep rollers in till ur hair has cooled down. This will help hair to hold curly form.
I am sure u will look great all weekend. Get down to the salon and buy some heat protector etc.

I am a cosmetologist and this can be done at home. You have to follow the directions exactly or you will have frizzy curls or even no curls at all. For best results if you do it at home, you should have a friend help you. Those pictures all look like spirals. A spiral perm uses quite a few rollers. Also, use orange rods or bigger; any smaller and you won't have the results you are looking for. The most important things you have to remember are don't leave it in too long and use end papers. By the way, perms smell really loud, so do it in a well ventilated area.

Your safest bet would be to go to the salon and have it done by a hairdresser. The store bought ones burned my friends hair so badly she had to get it chopped. Better to be safe than sorry.
