ezekiel 25:17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

The vengeful Bible narratives are read now from the perspective of the victor. But they initially were coined and told from the perspective of the oppressed. So, a vengeful God is a liberating one. Too bad such a God is now in the hands and mouths of the well off: Bush, Bin Laden, Jerry Falwell, and the like. Our Amalekites today are in the White House, in the upper echelons of transnational corporations, conceiving nuclear threats in Iran, North Korea, NATO headquarters, and the like, condemning millions to starvation, hoarding petrodollars in Saudi Arabia...
and so forth.

I dont believe God is vengeful. Man is, therefore they attributed God in the old testament with their own qualities. Vengence comes from anger and hatred. A supreme being, creator of all is above our human shortcomings such as vengence. Therefore dont let someone who doesnt know God tell you how he is. God is alive, search for the truth, seek and you shall find!

The same is with ya'all doesn't matter if you believe in jehova or ala or ra or vishnu you still pay your dues to some idiot pulling your strings.
It is funny that people still fall for such idiocy really....

To show us what idiots we really are. If I created you and you went against everything that I told you to do, I would do something to get your attention. Of course I would probably send a lightning bolt after a while. God is just patient and just.

Anyone who sins declares themselves an enemy of God, and becomes subject to his justice and his righteous anger.
That being said, all that's required to obtain peace with God is to swear allegiance to his son through baptism into his church, say your sorry, and try to do better next time.
None of that old testament stuff you mentioned matters anymore.

well i would have to say that...GOD IS NOT SOME C.E.O.(he's not even real)!EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS IS BASED ON WHAT WE WILL INTO EXISTANCE THROUGH OUR COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUS.the bible is for suckers. you make yourself look foolish with this **** man.so many bad things happen because mankind has convinced itself that it has no control over anything that happens, that we're all alone and defenseless, and our fate is in the hands of some pseudo-malevolent omnipitent prick and blah de blah de blah. ITS HORSE SH*T! TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND START THE WAVE!(the wave that will push our world to transcend this 3 dimensional pig pen)

God can do anything He wants to do with His creation....like I keep saying He is the Sculptor, we are the clay....if He wishes to wad up the clay and start over that is His choice.
He wants His creation to sincerely love Him, and those who don't, He doesn't need to be around. I understand this....if it was me and my creation treated me like crap, I'd keep the nice ones too!

He is not vengeful. It is his people. He made the mistake of giving the evil ones free will.

Don't attribute our human bullsh** to God. He is loving and forgiving. It's we who are vengeful and trying to justify it by putting it on God.
