when i was a kid my parents always treated me as an adult, so when i did something wrong they shouted at me and i couldn't understand why. when I grew up i realised that the things they shouted over were bad but no kid could understand it, so they just scared me that way. My sister and I were just treated like adults not kids. They weren't so bad but they made us feel insecure. Even when we grew up and my sister wanted to buy a car, they scared her by saying that a car will need a huge responsibility and a lot of money so if she can't handle that, she will be in trouble so in the end she didn't get it. I've actually learned to drive last summer but up till now i never got my license coz my dad wouldn't take me to the test..i know he'll think i'll take his car..but he wouldn't allow us to take it coz if something happened to it it will cost him a lot of money to fix it...so i'm just wondering is my life stable, are there any parents in the world that do that to their kids??

well...ALL parents really **** up somewhere. and now at least you can learn from their mistakes and not do that to your children (if and when u have any if u don't now.)

i don't believe that your parents intentionally raised you in a bad way but they did. because now you're totally insecure. exactly how old are you now? just remember that you're older and you are an adult and you need to learn how to make decisions on your own. my parents were totally cool. they treated me like a kid when necessary and as i grew older they gave me more responsibility to go along with it. you need to stop thinking that daddy and mommy is going to be mad and just do whatever it is that you need to have done. like the car thing...duh! everyone knows that it is a big responsibility. why do you think that 12-year olds can't drive? but you're going to learn from your parents mistakes. that doesn't mean give your kids hugs and kisses every time they do something wrong but you need to teach them what is right and wrong. screaming doesn't get you no where. i'm sorry you're going through something like this now and there is another possibility. instead of coming to this web site i think you and your sister need to seek some therapy. that may be the only way to get something done because i feel that you have deep inner problems that can only be resolved through professional help.

Did you want your parents to give you hugs and treats when you were bad? Come on, it's common sense, they raised you fine, not like an "adult." If you were raised like an aduly, they would of talked to you about all sorts of political things, and other stuff that kids don't need to know.

Most adults don't fix their problems by yelling so I don't understand your question.
