One of the things I have learned in my life is that getting angry, raising your voice, shouting obscenities, name calling, and being too emotional only hurts the individual acting this way. No one is going to change anyone’s mind using the tactics just mentioned. If you approach someone in a civil, calm, and respectful manner, the individual will more than likely listen to you. If not, then THEY have a problem. Rants and raves automatically throw up a wall. This goes for both legals and illegals.
Therefore, if we discuss things void of emotion, we are more likely to listen to the other point of view.
Can we agree to be civil here? You know, THAT is a sign of maturity and stability.

I don't completely buy into your "definition" of a civil adult. Even the most ridiculous and childish of ideas can be presented in the calmest, most methodical manner. That style of presentation does not necessarily make the speaker or writer of them more mature than his or her audience.
Some of the most gifted and effective of orators, politicians, educators, theologians, even humanitarians, in history have been those who "breathed fire." They were passionate about their beliefs and they were regarded as the wisest of the wise because they let their passion show. Defending your freedoms, standing up for your rights to live in a country in which your efforts to better yourself and the living conditions of your family, is NOT being immature.
Our immigration laws are not being enforced by the New World Disorder crowd that is currently in office and trying to destroy our national sovereignty and the concept of government by the people, going so far as to set up a so-called North American Union (yet another Confederation---that we have been taught, throughout education in this country, never works). That same group of traitors has abandoned our workforce by out-sourcing production (using slaves in countries such as communist China) and continues to turn a blind eye to the veritable invasion at our southern border, to take jobs that Americans WILL do (witness Hormel packing plants!), overload our social services network with new dependents, and present our educational system with an influx of uneducated with which it is not funded or equipped to deal. The purpose is to outstrip the capabilities of local and state governments, so that the matter will even more be a matter for "national" government (which as I said handles the problem by ignoring it on purpose). The rise in property taxes by local governments to deal with the aforesaid neglect, simply serves the plotters' goal of ultimately dispossessing the citizens of their property and cause them to join the ranks of the impoverished.
Hell, no I won't "try to get along" with idiots and traitors!!!! And by the way, throwing up a wall sounds awfully nice. "Good fences make good neighbors."

Honestly......it will depend on the person and situation....like yesterday when stomp said that crap to me.....I don't know him, I think he was out of line...so yea I went off on him (and don't regret it one bit) There is one other person that I had gone off on here like that, but that person had totally crossed thee line.......completely crossed the line!! (getting mad thinking about it....lol) But other than that I normally let the insults and innuendos go or make a little jab back . This is a hot topic for many, emotions are running high, May 1st didn't help either. We can try to be civil, I'm all for it.
Let the civility begin.....................

Civility's a rare commodity these days, it's a practiced art, something your kids only learn if taught, and people are prone to forget in a moment of haste or anger. It is also a sign of maturity, a concept/trait that is under-rated in our 16 to 25 yr. old get it now society...

Hilarious. we are people who pay the charges. we are people who arise and circulate to artwork. we are those you in many cases turn to while there is a few thing frightening you elect secure against. enable's be somewhat extra useful here we ought to? This exchange into so lots extra like a team of little infants lining as much as grab buckets of loose candy, and the surely adults confirmed as much as say "no, which will make you ill."

Are you talking about how the pro-criminal protesters broke past police in NYC and attacked the minutemen?
When enough is enough, that too is a sign of maturity and stability.
Shouldn't you be in Isreal right now negotiating with Hezbollah?

I agree and I try to act calm to people who bring up smart and creative questions, otherwise when people ask stupid questions or make stupid comments it makes it that much harder to stay calm.
