Jesus was the man who introduced the concept that we are all "sons of God," that is, both men and women are "children of God."

There are many speculations about the historic Jesus and his philosophy. There is documentation from a Buddhist monastery that Jesus spent his "missing years" in India... the sayings of Jesus and the Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama - who lived 500 years before Jesus) are remarkably similar; and the teachings of Jesus regarding kindness and compassion are almost identical to the Buddhist teachings. When Jesus returned to Judea after his missing years, teaching the divine love of God within every human being, a very basic concept of Buddhism, this was considered a heresy to the Roman Empire, the ruler of Judea, which felt that divinity was reserved only for Caesar; and the teachings of Jesus were considered heresy by the Sanhedrin as well, which taught that God is separate from man.

Anything regarding the life of Jesus that is not included in the Bible can only be considered speculation, at least until those speculative theories can be proven beyond the shadow of a reasonable doubt. Speculative materials are coming to light as more and more documentation is being discovered. Don't forget that the Council of Nicea, which established Christianity as an official religion (beginning first with the Roman Catholic Church as an extension of the Roman Empire), excised many, many documents which did not serve the Roman desire for power and conquest. The Dead Sea Scrolls and the discovery of the scrolls in Egypt that purport to be Gospels of Mary Magdalene, Phillip and Thomas are shedding more light on the life of Jesus.

We are God's children. Jesus is the Son of God because He is the right hand of God. He is God's ONLY BEGOTTEN Son ... read John 3:16. What makes Jesus special: He comes from God, He is God ... He came to save us. That's why He's special, he cared enough for us to die and bear the burden of our sins.

According to the biblical account...Jesus is the only begotten son of God. Now...in terms of the old testament begotten has a fairly specific meaning. Usually means that two people got together and had a child. Since Mary did not initially consent to this (she was told afterwards) would this mean that she was raped by God?

Only Jesus is the Son of God. We only become children of god through spiritual adoption when we believe in Jesus for our salvation. Otherwise we are not anything, except lost.

Not everyone is the son or daughter of God. Only those born of him are his children. They have holy spirit in them. It is available for those not born again to become so. (Romans 10:9 and10). Jesus is the first born, he is therefore the elder and chief steward over the rest as according to eastern culture. He is the head of the church (ekklesia - called out).

Jesus the Christ was God's ONLY BEGOTTEN son.

This means, that the ONLY thing in this entirety of creation from Angels, Heaven, the Universe to US all of it was created by Christ for HIS HEAVENLY FATHER, God. He is called Gods master architect and is known to have had a pre-existence in Heaven before his time on Earth.

"what makes jesus so special?" What makes Jesus' sacrifice so SPECIAL??? The fact that THE ONLY, THE ONLY THING EVER CREATED SOLELY BY GOD, DIED FOR US. And stayed dead for 3 days. WOW. What a sacrifice from God.

He did NOT have to do that. We certainly we're not worthy of it.

Jesus knew what we are struggling to understand. That we are equal partners with God. Jesus knew that God would give him exactly what he asked for. All he did was THANK God in advance, because he KNEW the answer was already there, already given to him. We aren't all the "Son of God". We ARE all God. Every one of us (together). We are all equal to each other, and we are all equal to God.
