Here's my recipie:
Red Lentil Dall:
Put some red lentils on the boil 1 third coconut mild and 2 thirds water.
Chop onions and fry them in a mixture of oil and butter OR in pure Ghee. And some crushed garlic to taste. And Whole spices (Star Anise, Cardomon,) meanwhile, quickly mix up a paste with a litle water and some Turmeric, Cumin, Ground Corriander, Chllies to taste, crushed lime leaves, Fenugreek and anything else you want. Throw it in the frying pan. Chop one banana and add a little creamed coconut to the frying pan. Add the banana to the frying pan. Fry.
Add a spoonful of honey (or to taste).
When the lentils are cooked, and the stuff from the frying pan into the saucepan with the lentils. Stir in and cover. Leave (OFF the heat) for 5 minutes (this is to let the flavours blend together).
Enjoy with bread (nan, chapathi, ordinary bread) and a cold glass of non-citrus fruit juice.

This is what you need to make a good dahl.
Red lentels (dahl)
1 level tsp turmeric
1/2 inch piece fresh ginger
2 cloves of garlic
THE ABOVE FOUR IS FOR THE FIRST PART.
Wash 1 cup of dahl and put in a saucepan with 4 cups of water, place on fire, skin and chop the ginger and garlic and toss into pan with a level tsp of turmeric, allow this to cook till the water starts to lessen and the pulses get soft. You will then need to whisk the dahl add salt to taste. The final part: half a medium onion and 2 cloves of garlic sliced , 1/3 teaspoon cummin seed. In a frying pan put a little veg, oil heat, add the cummin seed let them roast till they get brown then add the sliced onion and garlic, when the onion gets a nice brown enter the mixture into the saucepan with the dahl in it and return to fire and mix, The dahl is now ready. ther are other aspices you can use to change the taste also tomatoes which is a favourite.

Nope, no longer the identical. Sambal isn't an indian meals. Mostly Malays used that plenty in cooking meals. Dhal is truthfully made from peanuts. Sambal is sort of a highly spiced sauce upload directly to the dish.
