Send it directly to Hezbollah.

I have a terrible fear that like so many of the other charities it just about all get funneled off for ""expenses, wages, travel, handling"" etc., that little if any get to where we hope it will go.

Remember- Egypt like all the other countries is not a destitute submerging place.
They have LOTS of funds to send deli gates to the UN, buy Cadillacs for the executive or the governments, etc..

They will survive and possibly thrive without your money.

I have friends who gave and thought they had a photo of the family they were helping out-- turned out that same picture was sent by the agency to hundreds of people. Just a little bit of a con, I suppose.

Thank you for having a helping heart!

There are many scams like that all over the world. You may have just given your 120 Egyptian pounds to Omar, who's sipping cocktails at a resort somewhere.

If you can't afford it, then there's noting much you can do. You can perhaps get together with a few of your friends and split the costs so it won't cost so much for you alone, but you can sacrifice yourself for someone else, as sweet as that would be, but if you don't want to quit helping out, then I'd definitely suggesting finding people to volunteer with you to help out the kid.

You know you've helped that kid a lot and you should just stop. You can't drive yourself out of your own house because of a kid. They'll have someone else to handle them. There are many people out there who are willing to help that you don't know about yet. Stay calm and realize that they appreiciated it anyway and you did so much to make a difference so You should be proud of yourself. Take care and I hope you took my advice.

It doesnt sound like you are muslim but in every religion if you help a poor child you are granted what Islam says are "hasanat" or "good deeds". If you cant make the money anymore its fine. Youve done a very good thing that many people dont do. :)

The best thing to do is speak to the people incharge. Tell that that you can't afford to support the child anymore.

The important thing is that you have done what you could...There is nothing you can do really..but pray ...What you did was a very good thing..too bad more people that can afford to do it--would actually do it..

i would try to find a different sponsor for her. that way you know she is still being taken care of after you have stopped. thats the simplest, most guilt free way i can think of.
