I agree and also the vulgar and sexual and hate filled questions are troublesome.
I try to answer to the best of my ability the questions I think are honest.

Dante expressed (at least partly) my point of view.
Yahoo Answers is not meant as a discussion forum or preaching forum or religious platform, it is meant to be an answer forum.
People are supposed to ask questions, then receive answers from which they acknowledge the one that best helped them.
This works pretty well in categories where questions needing definitive answers are the norm. But categories that permit opinion to be expressed [e.g., Religion and Spirituality] often become simply places where people have pulled up the soapbox and started preaching (not just Christians, but atheists, Muslims, etc.) or needling their opponents.
The guy asking the question isn't supposed to be preaching with a question he's also answering himself in great detail -- he's supposed to be asking a question he needs an answer for.
Same thing with those who answer the question -- they are providing their best answer, not debating a topic with fellow members.
I understand that most of the preaching has been "well-meant" and it's nice to see so much participation in a public forum; but I don't think the format should change to accommodate direct debate. It's hard enough now to discern which questions are sincere and really need answers; I think YA serves a valid niche in locating answers.
There are many bulletin boards around the web where people can go, if they want to argue religion with their peers.

Frankly, It's Called Yahoo Questions Not Yahoo, Discussions, if you want to discuss things this is probably not the place.
I like it because it eliminates the awkwardness of asking particular questions in uncomfortable situations and at the same time you can share information about the world, Things that otherwise be overlooked in society... but its what ever When I get bored of this place I'll probably leave. but it sounds like your already at that point. There are forums online that can probably help you focus on issues you'd like to discuss, Now in the name of the lord almighty, god bless....
