How do I get a Chinese passport?

I plan to live in China for a long period of time in a few years, currently holding a US passport. How do I obtain a Chinese passport/citizenship?

china does not allow multiple citizenships. just remember, once you become a chinese, you have to apply for visa to go back to u.s. and it takes forever
