I'm into mythbusters too but I am smart enough to realize that I don't have the materials to do their experimants and keep myself safe. They do say don't try this at home for a reason. If you really want to build rockets, research and design everything yourself; if you can, you are smart enough to keep yourself safe.

Let's keep in mind of something here, anything will burn in a high oxygen environment (even steel).
What is needed:
1) Some sort of container with a hole on the bottom and some way to load the fuel
2) Oxygen (in tank form)
3) Fuel (what ever strikes your fancy.... acrylic, salami)
4) a rocket to load it in.
But just to be safe, be sure to not tell anyone that I told you this. I do not want to be responsible for your death. If you do die, make sure that your friends nominate you for a Darwin award.
