I tried to install windows updates but it keeps on failing... what should I do?

How are you installing them?
Are you going to windowsupdate.microsoft.com and manually downloading them or are you using the Automatic Update option that comes with Windows? What's the error it gives when you fail? Are you on Dial Up or Broadband? Details....

May be you are not using a genuine windows.
Search on google onhow to go thru that.
May be the updates are corrupt try another copy.
Be more specific in your question.
