My daughter, 6 months old, has an ear infection in both ears right now and has been on antibiotics and is still having some pain and irritability. As anurse I know that alot of ear infections are viral and cannot be treated with antibiotics. You kind of just need to let it run its course (as virus' do). I know that if my daughter is still sick after the medicine is completely finished I will call her Ped. to let him know. Good Luck.

Yes, take her back to the Dr.

Even after the infection is gone however, if the ear is damaged enough it can take up to a month to heal past the point that the ear is no longer sensitive to the touch

both of my children never respond to amoxicillin they always need something stronger. It could also occur if you didn't shake it up well when you give it to them. Or if you didn't keep it refrigerated. But yes it's common and a definite possiblity. Check her temperature that's usually a give away for any kind of infection. She also could be scratching at a scratch she put there while she had the infection get her to stop messing with it... if you can. And take her back in.

It is possible. With children that young it is impossible to get the right prescription (ie dosage, duration) everytime. Also I am surprise that with something like that your doctor or you haven't scheduled a follow up (as are the usual protocol in toddlers with any kind of medical problem.) Take your child back to the doctor and get it checked out.

You need to take her into the doctor. The antibiotics should have shown signs of working withing the first three days of taking them. If she is done ten days and still you have your concerns your best bet is to take her back in you don't want it to get any worse

Yes. It happened to my son before. Go back to the doctor immediately and get some more antibiotics.

Yes... my child had to go through 3 courses of antibiotics once to get rid of one...
But they also be teething, that makes their ears feel funny

Sure, it is possible, and judging from what you have posted, ( pulls at ear, loses balance) I would certainly see her/his pediatrician for a follow up.

Lets hope its not something more serious.

Never dismiss possible ear infections....beware of possible hearing loss.

Good Luck :)

Absolutely, you should take her to your doctor right away. If you don't she could lose her hearing. not to scare you, but so many parents leave ear infections untreated, and this causes serious damage to a childs hearing.
