A lot of people act like it's taboo or something for one to live his or her life according to the bible and not liberalism. What's wrong with being anti-liberal and prejudice against "free-thinking"? Liberals condemn conservatives for being so narrow-minded but the liberals are narrow minded because they do nothing except spout off about how we are ignorant.

I'm not perfect at all but I just wish people would start realizing that what God says is more important than whatever we want to do. I hope it becomes illegal to be a christian so I will get put in jail; at least I'll be at home.

The only thing that really matters is being a good person and following the golden rule (do unto others, etc.).

Christian Fundamentalists tend to be subject to criticism because many of them insist that the bible is God's word, period. For example: Homosexuality is a sin, but slavery is acceptable.

As far as I'm concerned, it's a great privilege to live in a country where you can worship as you please. Unfortunately, there are too many places in our world where people are still dying violently in the name of religion. Spirituality and religion should promote peace, love, understanding, and tolerance.

Be a Christian with pride! Just respect other people, and try not to take the criticism too seriously.

Because they can't stand the light and prefer darkness. Stay strong and cling to the fundamentals of the faith, The triune nature of God, sin as a reality, the need for a savior, who is Jesus. Hang on to the beliefs you have and grow more. There is plenty of evidence for God and that the Bible can be trusted as authentic and reliable. Don't let anyone here who tells you lies change you. It is not our job to save anyone, we simply share the truth, what a person does with that will determine their eternal destiny. And by the way, it was the Catholic church who had a problem with Galileo, not the Christian community.

I can give many answers, but the most important is that it reduces the space given to a human to think. Also it makes a person think twice about facts that are proven. Most God believers are narrow minded. They are the people who starts violence and War - all in the name of a god that does not exist - Common it's high time you realize that the Bible is fiction - you are brainwashed so bad, you are scared to except that fact - Get up people - please !

"Start realizing god is more important than whatever we want to do?"
Have I got that right? Is that statement supposed to get me to believe he exists? Just because you believe in him doesn't mean I have to, or that he even exists.

I don't consider myself liberal or conservative, I agree with certain things from both sides because I have taken the time to objectively examine the evidence and make my own choices as to what is sensible. Is that unreasonable?

I have taken years of my life to study both sides of the existence of god and made a rational decision based on loads of evidence.

Yet you tell me I should believe in this god and don't give me one reason, not even a flimsy one.

Do you see how I might feel you are insulting my intelligence?

Emily,

I am a proud atheist, but I have the highest respect for fundamentalist christians. I have no respect for "cafeteria christians" or moderates who pick and choose what to believe and what not to.

Fundamentalists believe that the entire bible is to be taken literally and I wholeheartedly agree. There is no bible study guide produced at the same time as the bible, saying that "this is literal" and "this is figurative". If you believe, you must believe it all, and believe it is wholly complete, literal, inerrant and the word of god.

You have my respect. I don't agree with you in the slightest, but you have my respect.

Fundies get a bad call while they impose their ideals on others in a forceful way and grow to be politically in touch attempting to equate their take on the regulations interior the Bible with regulations that would desire to be the regulation of the land. God instructed his disciples to instruct the gospel and instruct those issues he commanded. additionally the Christian is instructed to obey the regulation of government till it is going against a greater advantageous regulation of God. there is no longer something suggested approximately telling the government that they might desire to make the regulation of the land an identical through fact the regulation interior the Bible. The regulation of the land is meant to control the individuals, whether or no longer they have self assurance in God or no longer. there continues to be meant to be an ingredient to decision in that distinction. The Christian is going approximately casting pearls and there would desire to be no ask your self approximately why the call of the Lord has been trodden decrease than foot and his followers have a bad call. there is meant to be solid information supplied right here, no longer strict enforcement of ideals and regulations that for the main section have no longer something to do with the well-known public.

Because just that. You follow blindly in something that overtime has been proven to make mistakes. (ie Church put Galileo under house arrest for teaching the earth revolved around the sun).
