i am very patient with kids and they seem to find me fun to be around.
is it easier to get started in the infant field/toddlers/ or just preschool?

For starters you better take out those oven mitts now because your up for a challenge dealing with the stereotype, that men are not good w/kids. Right off the back your credentials, experience, references, and your background check will get one foot in the door. Dont get discouraged though, more and more men are stepping up to the plate in caring for children, a lot are full time staty at home dads and so the attitudes out theire are more open to this idea more than you may realize. You might want to start off by including female assistance in your business, then as your reputation flourishes...go solo if thats what you choose. Another good idea, if your serious about this, start off at an established daycare in your community and build your contacts and references, then go out on your own. By the way....I hope you know what your asking for.

You will probably have a tough time getting hired in that field. Unfortunately, a lot of bad apples have spoiled the bunch.

start with family friend's kids, they will spread the word, then once you have some established families as references try this:
