Not having insurance is a misdemeanor. The minimum fine is $200.00. For a first offense your driver's license will be suspended for 60 days. For a second offense within a five year period, your driver's license along with your license tag and tag registration will be suspended for 90 days.

No License
First Offense
This is a misdemeanor. For a first suspended license charge within a five year period, if you are convicted you have to do at least 2 days in jail and pay a minimum fine of $500.00. On top of that, unless you hire an attorney who knows what he is doing, you will lose your driver's license for 6 months on top of the current suspension. You will have to pay for two defensive driving classes rather than one, and two license reinstatement reinstatement fees.

Second or Subsequent Offense
This is a misdemeanor of a high and aggravated nature. Minimum jail time is 10 days. The minimum fine is $1000.00 and can be as high as $2500.00.

A conviction will definitely mean additional license suspension on top of your existing suspension. Hiring an attorney is critical since a specialist might be able to find a defense to your case.

Get auto insurance before you go!!!! Show the judge you now have auto insurance. Get quotes http://www.surfquotes.com/autoinsurance.html he may wave this fee of about $400 in most cases. Hire a good lawyer for your suspended license, this is no joke and carries the same charges and class as a dwi. In Texas jail time runs between 15-60 on first offense but varies depending on each situation and state. Your lawyer can help you out with GA laws.

Your license will be suspended 60-90 days for driving w/o insuance. For driving without a license, it depends if it's a misdemeanor (6 months/$1000) or an infraction ($250).

Why did you get pulled over? A large fine in the thousands possibly. If you don't have a good reason you're in trouble.
