my boyfriend told me he had quit talking to her in november. On my birthday in feb. he recieved a text from her. i looked at it. he said he would stop and i believed him then i find out yesterday that they are still talking. what do i do. break it off with him or what. this is the third time i caught him lying about it to me. HELP ME make up my mind. I really love him.

tell him until he can get it together and not lie you need some time form him. he obviously doesnt take you seriously and ignores how this makes you feel.

i don't know how old you are but your boyfriend sounds pretty immature. I'm not sure why you feel insecure about any friendships he might have, but you shouldn't. I'm going to let you in on a little secret - we women have more power than we realize over our men. i really urge you to go the bookstore and get a book called "Why Men Love Bitches." Bitches is used tongue-in-cheek in the title. this book has some great pointers for holding your own in a relationship and developing confidence so that when your next boyfriend continues to disrespect you after you have warned him about acceptable behavior you will value yourself enough to say bye-bye. go get this book fast!!!

If he can't let go of his ex and quit talking to her(unless they have children and are talking about the children) you need to kick him to the curb.
