IF WE HAD A GAS BOYCOTT IN THE SAME WAY THAT THE LATINOS HAD THEIR MARCH THROUGH SEVERAL CITIES AND WE ALL WENT TO WORK ON BIKES INSTEAD OF CARS FOR A WEEK....GAS COMPANIES WOULD SUFFER....ONE DAY BOYCOTTS ARE USELESS BECAUSE YOU FILL UP THE DAY BEFORE OR AFTER...YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT FOR A MONTH AND USE EACH TIMEZONE TO INDICATE WHICH WEEK YOU DIDN'T DRIVE...BIKE TO WORK...COMPANIES CAN'T FIRE EVERYONE THEY HAVE....

Actually the 2 can be tied together......it is a domino effect. If there weren't so many illegals here the demand for gas would definitely go down. Also heating homes.....11- 20 + million Illegals that is alot of people using up ALOT of energy don't ya think?? But don't get me wrong people with their luxury cars and their gas guzzling SUV's should be shot (ok not that extreme, but maybe taxed a little extra or something)
And that tax money they take and part of it goes to illegals getting benefits.....well lets just say I could use that tax money for me and mine. So the answer to your question is ILLEGAL ALIENS are more costly to me.

Illegal Aliens cost this country 68 Billion dollars. Which is 52 billion more that we are collecting in taxes. The gas prices are due to high demand. You want to lower the prices, lower the demand. Oh....Make sure you quit buying stuff made in China, there demands are increasing by the day and are the ones driving up the gas prices. So I no longer shop at walmart, nor do I buy anything made in China. I'll go without if I have to. I am working with my local Representatives expressing my concern over the illegals. I am doing my part, what are you doing?

Illegal immigration by a long shot. It causes a need to go to private school for my kids. We're not snobs. They are in public school now, and will stay there as long as they can get a quality education and stay safe. But if you look into LAUSD schools, you will see there are few that offer that after elementary school. Gas prices don't come close.
Besides, we should be focusing on alternate fuel.
P.S. Where on earth do you live that in 2001 gas was only $1 a gallon? That price hasn't been seen for decades.

Overall, I would say illegal immigration; but that's an interesting thought in the answer given by holdemrox, about the price of gas.

Stop it illegal immigration by far - over 450 billion a year and climbing!
the 200 billion a year that wages are drawn down on me DIRECTLY by cheap labor that I can't afford to buy that gas
Immigration is the #1 problem, nothing else - war, prices, nothing comes before that, because there won't be an America to defend.

Actually, ILLEGAL immigration has ALWAYS been "somthing to worry about" in MY state, and has been for at least twenty years now!!!!! The citizens in border states have been suffering the effects of illegal immigration for way TOO LONG now!!! It's just now catching up to the REST of the country!!!

BOTH are killing us. Again, the government needs to take control of both issues. Gas prices do not affect the rich who are still driving gas guzzlers. If you get into an accident with one, you're a dead man with your gas economy car. Why do we need gas guzzlers at all?

Illeagals--sorry but school tax alone would pay my gas needs. Than you add all the extras, that are well know. It is a big hurt-no getting around it.
