My husband can't stand the sight of anything bloody, needles, anything painful. He couldn't even watch me give my bunny antibiotic injections when he had a brain infection.
I think it is the combination of not knowing what to do, knowing this is a dramatic life change taking place, seeing your wife in pain, being excited, and if you think about it - seeing a person come out of another person is a little surreal. Until I had my son, I had a hard time watching live births because you don't really know what the woman is experiencing and your imagination makes it about one-hundred times worse than it is.

mine didn't faint just awful close too it.it was really hot in the operating room my doctor almost fainted too.turned out my hubby and doctor both had the flu that was going around. some mean just cant take the nerves and the excitement is just to much and they cant handle seeing blood

You watch too many movies or tv shows. I know a ton of men who have had babies, all in the delivery rooms, and not one who fainted.

Because while men may claim to be the stronger gender, when it comes to reproduction and other such women's issues, they're wimps.

That happened to a co-worker of my husband. He said that is was too much for him to see his wife in that much pain. So, I'm guessing, stress.
My hubby was awesome though - so it isn't all of them.

because women go all crazy during labor, they insult the guy and claim they hate him etc

My husband never fainted...he loved watching our kids be born.
