no he's the savior of all mankind and through him we get salvation and key to eternal life.
would his robes have hindered his performance or would he have competed wearing something similar to that cute little number he wore on the cross?

Wow, I am both offended and laughing at the same time. Don't you hate it when that happens. I am offended just because I don't think it is cool to assassinate someone who really didn't do anything wrong, and laughing because I would love to see someone in a robe and sandals try to pole vault.
