A yum yum (in Devizes anyway) is a doughnutty sort of dough, covered in sugar and full of fat, but it is spiral shaped and definitely yummy. It doesn't squirt jam all over you or have a disappointing centre. They are more fattening therefore. (and more tasty, and easier to eat in the car with one hand.)
