Don't know bout it being a dance. Jive is a slang for lying-jive turkey, a person who is nothing but a big joke........Or when someone uses the phrase-"don't jive me" means don't lie to me!

I'm black and it's widely used here.......It is a 60's slang and is often heard in so called "black" movies like 'shaft'....'foxy brown' and by the pimp huggie bear in the old 'starsky and hutch' show.
